“Three great days on Skye.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

In a lovely situation on the Sound of Sleat, it has wonderful views of the mountains and sea. Our room was ideal for a couple plus dog -- having an upstairs bedroom and bathroom and small lounge on the ground floor, where the dog could sleep. This quasi-terraced cottage overlooked -- and had access to -- the seashore. The food in the main hotel was excellent and the service from all of the staff friendly and helpful. Also good is the bar next door, where one can get very good food and company, if you do not wish to eat in the the restaurant any evening. Will definitely go there again sometime.

We walked in as non residents.

Gorgeous view by the water - we were blessed with a rainbow to die for as the rain moved in from the evening sun . .
Were given a table at the window .
Charming service
Excellent food - we had the fish.

Talking to residents they say the rooms are good as well . Many with good views .
We plan to stay there next time we are in Skye .

The location is very nice and the room was lovely, although a bit small. We had a wonderful view with a window seat and I enjoyed sitting there drinking my tea and watching the birds and the tide come in. Downside, there was no shower and the tub is very slim. I am not a large person but the tub was a tight fit so you can imagine how difficult it was for my 6' husband to bathe! We dined in the pub both nights and the food was nice, the bar staff very friendly and service was great. Overall a pleasant experience and one we will always fondly remember.

Room Tip: If you are older or having difficult climbing into a bath tub, make sure you get a room with a showe...

What a special little hotel and it has everything you need. Our room was spacious, spotless, beautifully appointed, quaint yet elegant with a beautiful water view. There is an upscale restaurant if that's your preference (we did try it one evening) but what's much more fun is the pub right next door that has excellent food and is full of life and laughter. Try their sticky toffee sundae - delicious. Not a thing to complain about - this is a fabulous hotel in a great location.

Great location, with stunning views! Meal was for 15 people, took a while to come and a few of the dishes were cold and had to be returned! However in the end the staff sorted out the issues and apologised!

We had a very pleasant three days here and were well looked after by friendly and helpful staff. The food is well ahead of expectation both in the dining room and the bar. It is an eccentric operation with a layer of dust on the lightshade and a rotten front door but nobody minds as the loacation is so good and they are all enthusiastic.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have showers and the bath is a wee bit slim!

We spent Saturday night here for a change of scene, after working hard. We had a pretty room with a sea view, a large comfortable bed with an excellent bathroom with hot water. We enjoyed being able to make our own cups of tea in the room. The staff were all very helpful and cheerful, which made it more pleasant.
We had an early dinner in the pub, as we had an event to attend, then much later on followed it up with an excellent cheese platter and a good bottle of red wine in front of the fire. It was busy in the pub with a buzzy atmosphere with lots of people coming and going, while later on we had the sitting room to ourselves. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and, all in all, we were delighted with our stay. We had frequently used the pub in the past but never stayed here before.
