Everything about our stay in Portree was delightful. Gill made us very welcome. We had a very comfortable room with a great view over the harbour and beyond. Ate breakfast with the same view but from higher up! Breakfast was great. Parking very handy. Altogether a great place to stay, only wished we had been there longer!

Gill and David were wonderful hosts to my family for three nights. I hated to pack up and move. Ben Tianavaig has great views and great rooms but most of all, Gill and David are the best. You will not find a better place to spend your time. I wish we could got back today! Skye is wonderful and so is Ben Tianavaig.

skye is a great place, and i wish we had stayed more than two nights - especially at ben tianavaig in portree -- we had a lovely stay there.

the hosts are extremely helpful, personable and friendly. we felt like we really got to know them, and they were so welcoming.

it's true, the bedrooms do have a lovely view of the harbour in portree, and the breakfast room shares the view. the breakfasts were great and the coffee was very good. although the b&b is located on one of the main roads out of the town, it was quiet enough in the evening to sleep with the windows open.

we are already talking about when we can return to skye, and when we do, we will stay at ben tianavaig again (if there's room, that is!)

We traveled the first weekend of May, fingers crossed we would have great weather but ...the heavens opened up as soon as we arrived! Oh well! We were well chuffed with the location of the B&B and the view was fantastic! After a long drive from the Wirral, Gill & David were very welcoming and lovely to chat with, they made you feel at home. We stayed in the 'Sydney' room & we liked the spacious, open feel to it and the view overlooking the harbour was picture perfect! Watch out for the pitched roofs though as they could be a headache for the taller lads like my hubby! After a lovely meal around the corner we settled in for a comfy nights rest. The next morning we had a great breakfast, my hubby commented on how good it was and we loved the locally made blood pudding they served! After a hearty breakfast they gave us ideas what to do & see on a rainy day on the island, their honesty was much appreciated. All in all, we loved the area, we loved the scenery, we loved the local folks friendiness and thanks to Gill & Dave had a wonderful stay. I'm sorry we couldn't stay longer as we had to unexpectedly dash off back home, yes it's a long drive to get there but it's well worth it. We hope to be back and stay there again!
