We really enjoyed our stay here. Gill and David just went above and beyond in making sure my parents and I were comfortable and having a great time. I had booked two rooms - a double for my parents and a twin for myself. The double had a large ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower. The shower had just gone out of order the day before and they were waiting for a part to fix it. Gill and David were very apologetic, and it was not a big deal - these things happen. My twin room had a smaller ensuite bathroom with just a shower. The rooms were clean, cozy and comfortable, with a lovely view.
The location can't be beat - it's right in town and everything's within walking distance.
The breakfast room was charming and also had a great view of the harbour. On our first morrning, we really enjoyed our breakfast of eggs, back bacon, black pudding, hashbrown and toast, plus juice, tea and coffee. They also provide a selection of yogurts, cereals, jams and fruit. After breakfast we chatted a bit with both Gill and David and they helped us plan our day of sightseeing.
We had to leave very early the following morning so Gill was kind enough to pack us a "picnic to go" as we'd be missing breakfast hours. She sent us off with sandwiches, crisps, fruit, cookies, beverages and other goodies - we had enough to snack on for the whole day! Plus, upon arrival there we realized we still had our room key from our hotel in Glasgow. They took care of contacting the hotel and mailing back the key at no extra charge. So generous!
