It was wonderful to stay in a B&B where the hosts made you feel like family!

We stayed here midway through a 2 week tour of Scotland. During our first night we had used some smaller pillows to prop up our bed pillows as we are used to using two pillows. When we got into bed on the second night, another set of bed pillows had been added to the bed. We hadn't said a word and the staff took care of us.

We stayed in the Sydney room which is at the top of 2 flights of stairs. The room fit our family of four perfectly with plenty of leftover room for moving around. The B&B also has ground floor rooms so you don't have to climb the stairs.

The B&B's location is nice and close to all the restaurants in town. They also have some parking places available which is nice.

The hosts are great to talk to and give you great, useful advice about the area and things to do. We left this B&B wanting to return.

A great location with views over the harbour, cosy rooms and very helpful service. We really wished we could have stayed longer as the service was great, and the view out the window was amazing. You can tell that the owners really enjoy what they're doing and it really makes for a wonderful stay.

“Wonderful Stay, Great Hospitality”

Am just back from Skye after a 3 night stay at the Ben Tianavaig B & B. We were allocated a very large en-suite room on the top floor (Sydney) with wonderful views over Portree harbour and the surrounding mountains (What else could you want to wake up to in the morning?). Our hosts David (an Aussie, who is most definately an honorarary Scot, who sings in a Gaelic choir) and Gill were fantastic and not only provided a wonderful cooked breakfast each morning but also took the time to give us information about the Island and where we might want to go in order to maximise our time there and see some of the wonderful scenery that Skye has to offer. The B & B is ideally situated right in the centre of Portree and is within walking distance of everything. Some good restaurants round about although we were a little early in the season for some of them, with the season not really kicking off until the easter weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in contacting Gill & David again on our next trip to Skye.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Gill and David just went above and beyond in making sure my parents and I were comfortable and having a great time. I had booked two rooms - a double for my parents and a twin for myself. The double had a large ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower. The shower had just gone out of order the day before and they were waiting for a part to fix it. Gill and David were very apologetic, and it was not a big deal - these things happen. My twin room had a smaller ensuite bathroom with just a shower. The rooms were clean, cozy and comfortable, with a lovely view.

The location can't be beat - it's right in town and everything's within walking distance.

The breakfast room was charming and also had a great view of the harbour. On our first morrning, we really enjoyed our breakfast of eggs, back bacon, black pudding, hashbrown and toast, plus juice, tea and coffee. They also provide a selection of yogurts, cereals, jams and fruit. After breakfast we chatted a bit with both Gill and David and they helped us plan our day of sightseeing.

We had to leave very early the following morning so Gill was kind enough to pack us a "picnic to go" as we'd be missing breakfast hours. She sent us off with sandwiches, crisps, fruit, cookies, beverages and other goodies - we had enough to snack on for the whole day! Plus, upon arrival there we realized we still had our room key from our hotel in Glasgow. They took care of contacting the hotel and mailing back the key at no extra charge. So generous!
