If you're looking for the perfect hotel experience on the Isle of Skye, this is it. I have stayed at many fine hotels around the world and I have never experienced a hotel staff that is as friendly, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented as the staff at this hotel. A special thanks to Paul, the owner, who bent over backwards to make my stay as good as it could be. When I booked the reservation I needed help with specific questions about what I should I do while on the Isle of Skye. Which scenic drive was the best? Should I drive over here or over there? Paul answered every one of my questions with very specific answers. He clearly knew all of the best places to go on the Isle of Skye. I am hard to impress, but he impressed me greatly. The guide books could only help me so much, but Paul helped me narrow down my choices in a way that was extremely helpful. When we actually arrived at the hotel his accomodating service continued. My mother had problems with her back and her ice-packs would melt by lunch time. What to do? Paul took charge and got is an electric ice cooler to plug into the car as we drove. My mother was very impressed and greatly appreciative. Then, disaster struck! My camera broke. Paul again took charge and let us borrow his own camera and then asked for our camera so he could take it to the photo shop while we were out to see if it could be fixed by the time we got back. Who does that? Are you kidding me? I was simply astonished at his level of customer service! The only thing he didn't offer to do was to go drive around Scottland and take pictures of the country side for us!!!
Also a special thanks to Heather, who also like Paul, blew me away with her own level of great customer service. When I originally called to make a reservation I asked her several specific questions about what to do while on the Isle of Skye and like Paul, she knew exactly what she was talking about and gave great advice. We stayed at five other hotels as we drove around Scottland and Paul and Heather were the only ones we ran into who could give us specific advice about what to do while in their area. At every other hotel we stayed at we were at the mercy of our guidebooks. Thats the key difference with the staff at the Rosedale Hotel. They understand that in the hotel business its not enough to be friendly and accomodating with your guests. You have to be knowledgeable about the area around your hotel too, so you can give your guests specific guidance.
As far as I'm concerned, if you are staying on the Isle of Skye there is only one choice. An incredible location on the waterfront combined with a superb staff, is an unbeatable combination. And one final thanks to Paul, the owner, when it comes to good customer service you are the gold standard. Bravo!!!
