“Maybe just unlucky today..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

Its a difficult trip to judge because wildlife is by its very nature unpredictable. On the day we went out on the boat the weather was great , calm sea's sunny skies and light winds . The skipper knew his stuff re-guarding the local area and wildlife, but it seems that in late April there isn't that much wildlife to see. Maybe everyone in the boat was a bit naïve to think that he'd just chuck a few fish in the water and the sea eagles would swoop down and everyone would get their pictures because let be fair ,without the birds in the area its just a few hours in a boat looking at cliffs. I would go back on this boat again but it would be later on in the season when the summer wildlife was in full swing....

“Nice Short Break To Portree Town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

We visited Portree city on 19th April 2014.

We took a bus from inverness bus station at 9.15 AM to portree bus station which should take roughly about 3+ hrs.

The journey was fantastic.

We reached Portree town around 12.30ish and then opted for a StarDust wildlife boat trip tour at 2 PM.

Trip was around 1+hr and we saw few eagles and a few other sea birds.

Information given by the Boat-Driver was good and we could see one eagle coming for a dead fish thrown in the sea.

“Enjoyable trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

We had a beautiful morning for our trip. Arrive early as some boys came late and their spaces had been taken by people who had not booked but came at 10am. We saw sea eagles and a few other sea birds. Scenery excellent and a pleasant trip even if you are not interested in wildlife.

“Excellent trip with a genuine boat trip business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

Took a trip on the MV Stardust during October half term. What you see is what you get and it's well worth the money. We were lucky enough to see sea eagles up close and a golden eagle from a distance. There seemed to be no rush and we stayed with the sea eagles for ages. Also good to see the coast line from a different perspective, a photographers' dream. A rainbow added to the beautiful landscape.

“If you're a wildlife fan, you have to do it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

They have been nesting in the cliffs in Portree Bay for some years now, so they are there.Plus, there are golden eagles nesting further round, so it's great for sightings.
We weren't as lucky as you can be - I've had closer looks at sea eagles whilst walking, especially on the Isle of Mull - but if you love wildlife, you just have to take your chance with this trip as close up sightings can be incredible. We did the trip in April when the female was on the nest and got a view of her huddled down. The male was quite high up above Beinn Tianavaig. It was cold, there were only 5 of us but it was still interesting and scenic. It's always worth hearing from someone experienced and knowledgeable and half the fun is the expectation, hoping you'll be lucky.Probably over the summer when the young are hatched and needing plenty of feeding, you're chances are pretty good of up close sightings. Then,I'd give it 5 stars,no problem! There is also a good chance of seeing the sea eagles on a high tide at the Glenelg ferry when they fly up from a nest site further down the Narrows, to pinch food from the gulls in this area. Apparently, now a regular occurence!
