Stayed here in the high season of June.
1st impressions were not great, car park rusted broken fence and weeds growing. The hotel is typical of its type i.e main building with bolted on wood/flat roof extension, needs a lick of paint and some tlc.
Has a busy bar attached with pool table, popular with locals and a fair bit of noise.
The place is clean enough and the people friendly but inside is untidy and dated, there is were boxes of "stuff" in the common areas and it just needed a bit more effort. Furniture dated and tired, room had thick embossed 80's wallpaper and chunky white veneer bedroom suite , which was a bit naff.
For £90 the "loch view" room had a small window which you could look over the extension's flat roof to the loch. I could not open the bathroom door more than half way as there was not enough space between it and the bed.
Bathroom itself very small, clean but dated. It had no window only a loud extractor fan and was rather dingy. There was no bath just a small rather weak electrical shower like the one in my flat.
Breakfast was okay and service fine.
I wouldn't go here for any kind of romance/relaxing break.
It's shortcomings would be fine if it was £50 per night but as they are charging £90 for a nights stay it represents very poor value.
