“Curry Goat or Cake? They're both terrific - but I can't eat both in one visit....”
The only solution was to have the curry goat (the best curry I have ever tasted) and take the chocolate cake back to the B and B to eat later! We couldn't go back the next day because we were going home.
We hadn't expected to find something like curry goat with rice and peas when we stepped in to the oasis of cake and chocolate that is Jann's Cakes in Dunvegan. We couldn't resist trying it, and we were glad we did. It was fantastic. a perfect mix of spices. One in our party doesn't enjoy curry, so he had a tagine which was also first class.
The only disappointment was that we were too full to contemplate the wonderful cakes for "afters". But, not wanting to miss out, we soon worked out that we could do "take away", and so we later had a tea party with a grand selection of some of the most beautiful and delicious cakes I've seen or tasted in the UK. They'd be perfectly at home in some fancy French patisserie.
We can't recommend Jann's Cakes highly enough. No, it's not cheap. But like most things in life - you get what you pay for. Do watch out if you sit outside. We did, and I got sunburn!
