“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2011

Touring the west coast of Scotland we stayed here for just the one night bed and breakfast. Used Google and the hotel's website and found it quite easily.
Nice, warm welcome and up to our room which was a good size. If we had been staying for longer, the shortage of hanging space in the custom made open wardrobe unit might have been a problem but we were living out of our bags so no big deal. Comfy bed and clean bathroom too.
We had a Sunday dinner at £6.95 each which was standard pub type food. Breakfast was much better.
Location is up a hill from the harbour front which some might find a problem. (We checked the menus outside hotels and restaurants by the harbour and found at the Mishnish Hotel, sirloin steak, chips, etc etc was a whopping £21.95. Wonder how many locals eat here? Or tourists for that matter?)
The staff were all pleasant, polite and helpful and for £77 this hotel was good value for the money.

We book three evenings here and it was brilliant. All the staff are friendly and chatty. The room was huge, big comfy bed, great bathroom and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great with a good choice and it was well cooked.

We ate here on all three evenings the food was so good, cheap as well! Good choice on the menu with great fish dishes!

From check in to check out it was a pleasure to be there!
This is what a hotel should be, top marks to the staff and management!

They always seemed interest in you, full of advice on places to visit, and seemed to genuinely care that you enjoyed the stay

This was only meant to be a stop off stay before moving on to self catering accomodation but we were pleasantly surprised that nothing was too much trouble. The room was extremely pleasant and the bed extremely comfortable.Even though check out time had expired my wife was made extremely welcome to watch the Royal Wedding on the big screen in the lounge. All in all this made an excellent start to our holiday which was truly blessed with wonderful weather throughout(yes, this is in Scotland!)

sent away to work on mull for two weeks with my company and we where put up in the park lodge hotel, I have spent a few years travelling the country with work and have stayed in many B&B's and hotels and this is yet by far the most enjoyable, pleasant, clean, and efficient to date.
Rooms are clean, comfortable and modern with self controled heating all rooms also have small flat screen tv with freeview but you also have the added luxury that the bar and restraunt also has full sky package and are quite happy to put and football game on that is live the bar is also made to feel very homely and comfortable with exceptional bar staff who are really nice and always willing to chat and have a laugh.
The restraunt is also lovely with a nice selection off food at very reasonable prices the same as the bar which amazed me was very affordable aswell.
Park lodge is also ideally situated just above tobermory which is only a 10 min walk from the main street
If anyone was to ever go to mull i would advise them to book into park lodge before anywhere else as geoff and rebecca have done an outstanding job at building a very friendly hotel

Room Tip: all rooms are enjoyable

Stayed here over the Easter weekend and had the most wonderful time. The staff are extremely friendly and could not do enough for us. The room was small but adequate, clean and had all the facilities we needed. My partner is in a wheelchair and we asked for a room that was accessable. We were allocated a room on the ground floor near to the front door and found the room to be suitable. the shower had a small step up and was of the shower cabinet type so would not be suitable for all needs. We will definetly be back.

We were forced into booking into the Park Lodge by the plethora of minimum two night bookings required on Mull. But on the night we spent there Tobermory was deserted!

Does this town want tourists?

So - having been forced into this hotel - but given its media character, we expected somewhere with a litle fun about it - how wrong we were!

After negotiating the switchback from the harbour we found this empty hotel and car park (Bank Holiday Monday!) We went to check in and there was the guest book - just like this page - full of effusive reviews - I wonder if the staff have to write them when starting work there - no client with any discrimination would!

We were then given a good old heavy key on a wooden ring - just like the old days - and climbed the stairs past the broken lift - also just like the old days. It was so broken there was even a table of flowers parked in front of it

We opened the door into our cell - err sorry - room, and were immediately underwhelmed. It was about twelve feet square with just enough room for a small double bed, one chair and some open woodwork masquerading as clothes storage. The internet did not work either so we could not communicate with the wider world.

The room browser provided the advice that the property had been built by the admiralty in the thirties - the sea scouts building across the way should have given us a clue. It had been a barracks - and the room size is a convincing hangover.

Amenities were basic at best, and real ale was "off" Accordingly so were we - to eat and drink elsewhere. The best meal - the famous fish and chips from the van on the pier - but the bar we chose - obviously a "yottie" haunt - was also deserted on this bank holiday evening! Where was everybody after all those two night minimum restrictions.

The following morning we arose and went to the dining room - with the three other clients who had stayed that night - to the skimpy breakfast described in one or two other reviews.

We paid and left - hurriedly - and won't be back. This place is a disgrace to tourism and deserves all the criticism it gets - read some of our other reviews and you will see that we don't mark down - except when it is deserved.

This is an honest review not written by an employee or a family member and you can rely on it - Stay away!

this is not the first time we have used this hotel and as always everything was excellent the rooms are keep very clean and tidy, the food was good, breakfast and the evening meal we had in the restaurant one night. very central for tobermory but the hill is very steep back up to the hotel but the view is lovely when you walk up the hill. Plenty of parking space and nothing is too much trouble, thanks again for a great stay. pete and jan
