The hotel is well located, next to the harbour. There is no car park, but this is no problem, with plenty of parking in front of the hotel, by the water. The hotel is clean and welcoming and has lots of guides and maps to borrow for those having a longer stay (just one night for us) The rooms are fairly small, due to the nature of the building. We didn’t use the restaurant, but breakfast was good. Other places to eat and drink are very close by.

On a B and B basis, the hotel is fairly pricey for what it is, but the location is worth something. Our rooms were rear facing (no view at all) and a sea view would be recommended. A good hotel that I would recommend, especially for those staying a few days, but others on this trip round Scotland gave better value.

Just back from spending a few days in Tobermory, Isle of Mull. Excellent, everything fantastic. The Tobermory Hotel is so relaxing and friendly. The staff are really helpful. The hotel is like a home from home. The rooms are not very big, but the view from our room was brilliant. All the facilities are perfect. There is not really a bar as such, but you can enjoy a drink in the residents lounge. Breakfast and dinner are great. The portions for dinner are not very big but the food tastes super. There are a few pubs to go in the evening and we enjoyed the Mishnish for a drink and there was entertainment. Would recommend a visit to Iona if you have time, there is a lovely relaxing feeling about the place.

This is a lovely hotel in a delightful place. I've visited a number of times, over several years, for the standard of the food alone, which is superb for an hotel of its size out in the Hebrides, and represents excellent value for money. Breakfasts and dinners alike offer ample variety, and local produce is used to best advantage. There is a good wine list, modestly priced.
I've always found the standard of service at the Tobermory to be high, but on my latest trip (April 2008) the staff really excelled: service was consistently efficient, unobtrusive and friendly, both at table and in housekeeping.
The bedrooms, though not large, are pleasantly decorated, and have everything that most travellers would need. The bathrooms are well-appointed, and maintained to a high standard. On this visit, I took a cheaper room at the rear of the hotel, as I've seen the magnificent harbour view many times; but I was given an upgrade for two of the three nights of my stay, when a sea-view room became available.
The Tobermory's public rooms are furnished in beautiful simplicity, and are most comfortable.
This is an hotel to which I confidently take my friends, and I commend it to travellers to one of Scotland's most charming island towns.

This hotel provides the tranquility, charm, atmosphere and welcoming warmth that epitomises the appeal of the Western Isles. The Tobermory Hotel sits in the quaintly multi-coloured main street of Tobermory, the only town on the Isle of Mull. It is a perfect base for a relaxing holiday, a wildlife discovery adventure, and the holiday to experience the breathtaking scenery of the Isle.
The room we have stayed in twice now, is cosy and characterful with a four-poster bed and overlooking the harbour. The shared lounge feels homely and provides views out onto the harbour and beyond across the Sound of Mull to the mainland of Scotland. All hotel staff were happy and helpful. We benefitted from some of the consistently finest food we can remember from anywhere on our travels. The locally produced venison and beef was excellently presented and delicious as was the locally caught seafood - all accompanied by local beers and, of course, the customary range of malt whiskey. We shall be visiting again in autumn 2008 and probably many times in the future.
