This was my fourth (or fifth??) stay at Seaview and will certainly not be my last. The rooms are all beautifully presented, clean and welcoming with loads of little extras that other B & Bs often seem to overlook. John and Jane are brilliant hosts with loads of local knowledge to help you plan your time at Fionnphort. The location of Seaview makes it the best for access to Iona and the view from the breakfast room and front bedrooms is unbeatable. A short stagger back from the Keel Row after dinner and then time to sit and watch the glorious Hebridean sunsets - what more could you ask for? The drive from Craignure may only be 35 miles but the fantastic scenery and wildlife en-route means that the journey can easily take a couple of hours (or longer!) but it is well worth the drive.

Beautiful house, lovely room, spotlessly clean everywhere, excellent hosts, really good website that would catch anyones attention and prompt replies to any enquiries, anything and everything anyone could ask for when away from home.

Would & will recommend this B & B to anyone heading for the beautiful Isles of Mull and Iona.

This place was recommended to me by a fellow traveller, and was a great place. The view of the bay is beautiful, the hosts (John and Jane) are very welcoming and helpful. They kindly put a notebook with information on EVERYTHING in the rooms. They are very green, and the rooms are clean and beautiful. The bathrooms are roomy, the TV has cable. The only complaint I have is about Fionnphort, not Seaview - there are very limited eating options. I recommend going to Bunessan 6 miles away for food in the evening, as I was less than impressed with dinners at Keel Row, next door. Lunches were great, but dinners were below average, IMHO.

John was wonderful about helping me arrange a boat trip to Staffa (the weather wasn't cooperating) and we would definitely return again someday.

  • Liked — The location right on the bay was fabulous!
  • Disliked — The 30 mile drive on a single track road to get there was frightening!

John and Jane run a fantastic B&B and when we return to Mull that is where the car will be driven! We were welcomed in and made to feel at home--everything is explained and any questions we had were answered-- even boats and meals booked for us!

Well done Jane and John!

The memories of Seaview have lingered long after the holiday to the West Coast was over. It truly is a gem of a B&B. The rooms are clean, cozy and contain all you could need, the hosts have a strong "green"ethic which, whilst not overpowering, gives a gentle feel to the place, in keeping with its surroundings and the views from the window are stunning.
The guest lounge has a huge selection of local books/maps and sitting in the conservatory planning your next day and looking out to Iona over the crystal clear waters of The Sound of Mull is a joy.
John and Jane create a wonderful "home from home"atmosphere and do all they can to help you get the most from your stay in the island. The restaurant next door is a busy place at the height of the season with a good selection of food but, disappointingly, not seafood. At the bar attached to the restaurant you'll get a warm welcome too.
The best seafood meal we had on our entire trip was at a restaurant owned by a friend of Johns in the neighbouring village of Bunessan called "Reefs" - you won't miss it - it's on the waters edge and is painted a deep blue. The food there was outstanding and freshly caught that day with credits on the blackboard to the boats/fishermen who'd caught each type of fish.
Seaview's breakfasts go way beyond what you'd expect and are served by John is a most professional yet friendly way. Alongside a large selection of cooked items, healthy options feature strongly - fresh fruit, granola, home made jams etc - which aren't always easy to find in this remote part of the world
Go to this very special place - you won't be sorry

  • Liked — John and Jane - and the views! And the warm, friendly atmosphere
  • Disliked — Leaving! (The coaches leaving the Mull/Iona fery around 4pm could be noisy but aren't a real issue
