A nice B&B close to the ferry to Iona and next door to the local bar and restaurant. The owner John knows a lot about the things you can do. He booked for us the restaurant on Iona and the boat trip to Staffa. The rooms are clean, not to big, but sufficient. The breakfast room gives you a nice view on the harbour. The table is not too big, so when there are many guests, you need to plan your breakfast.

Management Response
John Noddings, owner
(Management representative)
Feb 12, 2008
We note the comments by this reviewer with regard to the size of the bedrooms and our breakfast room.

Our home was built in the 1800's as a family home and is not a purpose built B&B as so many of the new ones are today. In 1997, to accommodate the increasing demand by guests for ensuite bathrooms we adapted our bedrooms to incorporate ensuite facilities which have meant that our bedrooms have reduced in size. A review in the 'Scotland on Sunday' newspaper described the rooms as 'boutique' style, individual and personal. We prefer to call them cosy rather than small and they are all well euipped offering everything one would expect at home.

Our breakfast table is a farmhouse kitchen style table and seats eight people comfortably. The breakfast room has unsurpassed views of Iona and the Abbey and our guests love sitting and enjoying the view. Our breakfasts are freshly cooked to order (not pre-cooked or ordered the night before) and therefore we do like to know when our guests would like breakfast - this does mean setting individual breakfast times for guests but it seems to work well for everyone.

Our emphasis is on excellent customer service and value for money which we feel is more important than bedroom sizes (which is something we have no control over). The positive comments in our guest book supports this as does the 97% overall satisfaction rate of our guests last year.

As good a B&B as you could possibly hope to find, I could not find a fault with anything. Positioned next door to the pub/restaurant and a short stumble to the Iona/Staffa ferry-port you can get here and forget about your car for a while (and after single-track driving, that was a relief). Room was comfortable and very clean.

The breakfast's are worth the trip alone, local produce cooked to order by people who know and respect food.

The main asset though is John, the owner. He's friendly, informative and seems genuinely enojy his job.

We were so comfortable here and the B&B so homely that we didn't want to leave.

We have had two wonderful stays at Seaview, the first was 4 years ago and we returned just recently. The owners are friendly and welcoming with an endless knowledge of the area. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious. We will definitly return on our next trip!

The Seaview B&B has a great location at the port of Fionnphort, where the ferry departs for Iona. We stayed here for one night and were delighted with this B&B. We got a very friendly welcome from the owner and were given a room which was bright and spotlessly clean with a tiny but spotless shower room. We ate dinner at the pub next door which served basic pub food in a relaxed environment. Breakfast at the B&B was excellent with a very varied menu.

A great place to stay for £28 per person per night including breakfast.
