“Great place for home baking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

We managed to have a great lunch in this place on the way to Iona. The food was very good and although the service was a bit slow it could have been to do with how busy it was at the time. Highly recommended.

“One day on Mull - where else do you go?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

Well, the title is almost true..... We had around 7 hours on Mull off a cruise ship. So we rented a car and drove around the beautiful coat road on the north side of the island, down the west coat and them nipped out to Bunessan for lunch. The trouble was that we had lingered so long to look at the views on the way that by the time we got to Bunessan all we had time for was a takeaway.

But the local lamb pasties and the slices of asparagus and courgette tortilla were absolutely delicious. The cafe was warm and the welcome truly welcoming - we just wished we had had time to sit and relax.

We will be back.

“Lunch was great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2014

Lunch was great on Tuesday. Went back on Thursday for cake and coffee found the place closed up at 2.45pm, despite being told two days before open until 4pm.

“Relaxed, good food”

Fab food, relaxed atmosphere, great service. Only shame was it wasn't open every day of our holiday! Gorgeous pottery for sale too.

“Best bacon butty says teenager!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014 via mobile

A haven on a February day providing excellent cakes and the best bacon butty ever.
Very few places were open for a cup of tea (not surprised since it was out of season) and we were gasping after a day on Iona. We had spotted the Bakehouse on TripAdvisor and phoned to check opening times - what a splendid place!
We had two different cakes that were delicious, and, at the risk of repeating myself too often, a great bacon butty. My teenage son is an expert, having consumed them in many places, but this was the best being made with superb bread and lots of thick, tasty bacon. I don't think I really need to say anything else - except I recommend that you go.
