“Good food and plenty of it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We always call in at least once when on our holidays in Harris and each time the staff are helpful and friendly, the carvery is well presented and the food good, you can go up to the carvery as many times as you like if you are really hungry, there are also plenty of side dishes to chose from, well worth a visit.

“Great food, reasonably priced.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

As mentioned by others who have reviewed this FAMILY restaurant, it won't be for you if you are looking for that 'cosy' or 'intimate' tete-a-tete with a loved one, or possibly even that quiet table amongst a few friends.
This is a big, open space with a more functional feel about it, catering for 'drop-ins', guests of the hotel to which it is attached, or folk who have pre-booked in the full knowledge of what's on offer.
Their is a private dining room at the back, but this is mostly for larger parties (office 'dos', birthday parties, etc).
All this aside, the FOOD is first class.
The help yourself carvery section comes with several selections of joint (Roast, Gammon, etc), varieties of chicken, curry, chinese, assorted fish dishes and many others, together with a rich and varied selection of vegetables.
The starters include a choice of soups and a decent selection of 'cold' salad products.
For dessert, there are about 5-10 decent puddings, trifles, cheesecakes, ice-creams etc.
All of this comes reasonably priced for 2 or 3 courses, cheaper when taking advantage of the 'early bird' offers.
It's not the fanciest gourmet restaurant in town and it's not the place to propose to your girlfriend...but if you don't fancy a long wait, as full a plate as YOU want, decent variety and great service, then this is the best place in town.

“Ok....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

Eleven reminds me of a school canteen, its always loud and noisy - full of families with screaming kids!.
Its a carvery/buffet which you help yourself to. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant for a nice meal with friends or (adult) family as you will be in and out within about 45mins.
If you are looking for a quick bite in your lunch break its acceptable.
There are much better places in Stornoway to eat.
