“Little piece of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

I ate an evening meal here with colleagues after a brief business trip and we were delighted with all aspects of our visit. We had a wonderful view of the loch through panoramic windows and enjoyed a very relaxing meal accompanied by some excellent local whisky. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the value was excellent. I would highly recommend the Lochside!

“Boring pub level”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Had lunch there in december. Absolutely needs revamping everywhere (apart from the wooden bar), feels old, stain, smells grease when you enter, has horrible toilets and amateurish service. Food was pub style, bland, everything pan fried, not fresh. Choice of whiskies is good, but expensive. Many bottles almost empty which is bad news for the taste of the whisky. All in all a big deception - sorry, folks.

Loved the atmosphere and food was fantastic, best place to eat while staying at the Bowmore House. Andrew suggested it. Great whisky selection.

“All Whiskys of Islay on the shelfs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Good food, great atmosphere, excellent view across the water. But that's not what you are here for: Their selection of Islay Whisky is second to none with a knowledgable crew serving. If the live musician would turn off his amps and play acoustic, it would complete the picture.
