We were looking for a peaceful and secluded retreat and we found it! What an amazing experience that you absolutely cannot pass up. Besides the beautiful weather we had for the week, we were met with lovely hosts in their conversation, warmth, and amazing breakfasts that are more of a brunch. The scenery goes without saying as each day met us with incredible sunrises. From our cabin room it was stunning, and yet even more so from the Lodge's balcony. There was fresh coffee each morning and relaxing music that lilted through the air every day. We stayed in the Forest View Room which is more of a mini cabin in itself. The evenings in the hot tub under a star studded sky accompanied by a symphony from the forest topped this "away time" off. The room was immaculate and we were always asked if we needed anything. Little amenities like sodas in the mini fridge, little snacks available if you are hungry, a towel warmer, and a welcoming king size bed that was so comfortable. The lodge is beautifully decorated in pine and stone and appropriate mountain art, and not surprised to learn the hosts designed this hideaway! We were met with citrus water each day which I enjoyed immensely. You get so much more and you leave feeling like you have new friends. Our hosts gave us good information about the area and great directions to wherever we needed to go. Unfortunately we were unable to go into the Smoky Mountains park due to the shutdown, but, honestly, it just gave us a great reason to stay put in this welcoming room. This is also a very eco-friendly place to stay which we appreciated. Thanks Jim and Mary. What an experience! It was too warm for the fireplace but we would love to return to sit on that porch and gaze over the snow laden mountains with a fire at our backs. Bless you both.
Forest View Room gives you so much more. It is like a mini cabin.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are so glad you found the "peaceful and secluded retreat" you were seeking. Getting to know our guests and knowing they enjoyed the comforts of our Inn and the conversations over breakfast is what makes being an inn keeper so satisfying. It is nice to know that you appreciated the little things. We would welcome a return visit from you when you can sit around the fire and enjoy the winter wonderland of the mountain-top. We look forward very much to seeing you both again.
