“Excellent Restaurant - Open all day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

There aren't many restaurants in the area and you could easily drive past this one without giving it much thought - don't !!

The service is first class, as is the quality of the food. We had a late lunch here and it was fantastic value for money.

Highly recommended.

“Will definitely be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

Booked in for Sunday lunch after having heard about it from friends. The service was excellent and the food well presented, hot and tasty. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and although we were the first diners to arrive, it soon filled up with other diners.

One of my party had asked for a couple of changes to the dish they were ordering and this information was taken without issue - the dish was served exactly as requested and while this may not seem that big a deal it's surprising how many restaurants don't serve what's been asked for! We really appreciated the attention to detail which made our dining experience so enjoyable.

“Fantastic experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014 via mobile

We visited here for a Sunday lunch after reading other reviews and we certainly weren't disappointed. A very warm, friendly greeting on arrival and we were seated quickly. Very attentive service to start with and drinks arrived promptly. The waitress knew the menu and was able to offer advice and I went with one her recommendations. The food was very well presented and the Black Pudding cakes starter was delicious. The restaurant filled up very quickly and they were soon turning people away as they were full up. From here the service seemed to slow down but that didn't bother us as we were not in a hurry. The Sirloin Roast and Chicken Stuffed with Haggis were superb, great presentation and very good portion size and my daughter heartedly suggests the children's fish goujons that were certainly not out of a packet and so homemade. I rounded the meal off with their homemade rice pudding which was to die for! All in all an excellent experience and we will definitely be going back to try some other dishes from the menu. This place is a must to try if you are in the area but I would certainly recommend booking!

“A little gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We had driven past the Minishant Restaurant a few times and liked the look of it and the little village of Minishant where it is situated. So, having looked it up on Tripadvisor and found encouraging reviews, we decided to give it a try. We had no reservation and when we arrived about 7.30 on a Tuesday night it was pretty full but the charming waitress quickly found us a 6-seater table. To start we had the goat's cheese and pate, both of which came very quickly indeed but were delicious nonetheless. My generous main of Poached Fillet of Salmon with Leeks, Prawns and a White Wine Cheddar Cheese Glaze was also delicious with well cooked salmon and thick creamy sauce - very tasty indeed. My wife chose the Cajun Spiced Breast of Chicken with Rice Pilaf and a light Curry Sauce which she also raved about - also a generous portion with just the right spicyness and full of flavour. We were not able to sample the desserts having been fully sated with the starters and mains.

The young waiter and waitress were warm, chamring and efficient and the overall atmosphere was one of very content diners enjoying themselves. We would certainly revisit and recommend.

“Amazing as always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

Dined here a few weeks back as a larger party and as a small place they catered for us very well, service was fast and food was just as good as it always is! I had the trio of meats which is a lot of eating but it is so very tasty that you don't want to stop, will definitely be back soon
