Despite having a static caravan on a site only a few hundreds yards from the hotel and knowing this beautiful part of the country like the back of out hands, we decided as it was our first night alone with no childred in 10yrs we would have a treat.
From my initial "can you help" call with Gillian at reception, to the fantasic Mezanine room with the bed upstairs, to the outstanding food and very friendly staff ,it was fantastic.
Perfect retrat fo myself and my wife just for that little break without the kids whichis very rare indeed, room was huge, spotless , very well finished with nice deco.
As it was our wedding anniversary as well, Gillian arranged a stunnig bouquet of flowers for my wife for the room from the local florist in town, as well as slippers and robes in the cost. Very reasonalbe for the flowers, I would strongly recomend them.
Fro dinner we both had scallops which were amazing and beautiffuly presented on a natural slate plate. Mains were the sea bass with an amazing sauce, and the monkfish, again delicious. We thoght the food could get no better till we got dessert.....well wahI can say is we reccoment the cheescake and the parfait both dishes wereout outstanding and again all beautifully presented with care. The chef clearly takes pride in his work. Following morning, it was full scottish breakfast, again superb. We have already booked the baby sitter for next year and we will be back.
My only tiny bit of constructive feedback was that as it was November, when we arrived at the room, it was freezing cold. A nice touch would be for the heating to be on for arrival. To be fair it heated up very quickly when I put the heating on.
