“Excellent pub food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We dined there with our grandson and all enjoyed it so much we returned the following day (and also the day before we went on holiday). The menu is varied, definitely suits all tastes and ages. We were amazed with the quality, quantity and presentation at such incredibly good value.
The busy friendly chef (Davey) even introduced himself and asked if everything was to our satisfaction. Johnny and all the staff were friendly and efficient.
If dining out in Troon it will certainly be our number one and highly recommend.

“What a good pub is all about!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

Went to Troon for the day because of the fantastic weather and unearthed a fantastic little gem of a place. The title sums the place up, a great pub with lovely staff, a lovely chef and great food and drink. My partner and I had the homemade burgers, mine with pulled pork - a must try! Both cooked and served perfectly, along with a great selection of drinks by the glass and bottle. This place is a classic little pub, nothing fancy here, a must if visiting the area.

“First class pub grub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Great "local" traditional pub which also serves freshly prepared pub grub. Serves the usual & popular staples, fish n chips, steak pie etc but also does good pakora & curries. SpeciaHuge portions - very good value. Served in either public bar or lounge. Free wifi.

“Glad chef is back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

The harbour bar in Troon has the best food for amazing prices, you will also not leave hungry as the chef is generous with his portions. A couple of weeks back, chef was on holiday so they were serving snack meals however this was not the chefs food! Please don't take any notice of bad reviews, try it for yourself and see. The pakora, steak, chicken Balinese and cheesecake are a must! Enjoy!

“Friendly bar/restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

This bar/restaurant is very popular with both local residents and frequented by travellers from the Ferry line to Ireland. It is a small "old world " bar/restaurant therefore has character and warmth. The staff are also warm, friendly people. The chef will not disappoint you with his cooking of the varied choices on the menu. Generous servings of excellent, tasty food make it one for the "must go back to" list! Inexpensive prices but satisfy expensive tastes!
