“Fantastic value as usual”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for 2 nights on a b&b basis. Views from this hotel are amazing over looking the old course, or golf course across the road. Check in smooth as always. Room was in. Turret, a bit on the small side, but did the job. Bathroom was spot on. Breakfast was outstanding, and the haggis was exceptional. Had dinner 1 night. And having ate here many times in the past it never let's down. The sticky toffee pudding is a must.

Afternoon tea in the Arran Bar for my husband's birthday. Bar completely lacking in ambience with tired decor, unsuitable tiny worn tables, no menu, no choices of either food or tea, boring sandwiches and dry stale scones. Staff polite but no-one bothered to check if we wanted refills, nor could I find anyone to pay at the end. A big disappointment.

Room Tip: Don't bother having afternoon tea here. Go to Turnberry.

My daughter treated me to a spa overnight break at beginning of this month. Staff at reception were first class, Lovely girl on desk informed us we had a really nice room with view over the golf course (we had to look over the top of the car park first). Room was very small, and I was shocked by the state of the drapes on the window. The outer curtain seemed to be an old, plastic shower curtain which was torn and very shabby!. Dinner was very good and dining staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was on of the nicest hotel breakfasts I have had in years, as it was brought hot to the table, instead of the new-fangled, cold buffet efforts that are the norm nowadays. Spa treatments were first-class, the leisure staff are so friendly. Maybe they could consider curtain renewal and room updates to make this a perfect place for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger, sea-view room

We had our wedding here in August and the staff were brilliant and we got a great package deal. Would recommend for a wedding or any other event. Rooms are gorgeous with great views and the food was brilliant.

Room was adequate , problems with loo were eventually resolved. Food was excellent, staff wonderful, smiling, friendly and very genuine in their approach. Marine is a short distance from the Town, but easily walked- very flat. Leisure Club was excellent, again helpful and cheery staff.
Can't wait to return!

We stayed in a suite with separate lounge and bedroom. Great views of the golf course and over the sea. The food is superb and the menu has something that everyone will like - fish, pork, chicken, steak, lamb and vegetarian options. Great leisure and spa facilities and a lounge bar overlooking the 18th hole of Royal Troon Golf Club. Great hotel for a relaxing break.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff were very attentive. Couch in our suite was slightly damaged, however it didn't affect the comfort. As usual for hotels, bar prices are somewhat exuberant, approx £5 per drink.
