My husband and I visited Sutor Creek twice during our stay in Cromarty this Easter (2013). I was immediately impressed by the friendly staff, the layout of the place, the decor and the food options. It is the only place I've seen so far with four different time slots for meals; they do lunch 12-2pm, dinner 6-8pm, pizzas all day and homebaking until 4pm! For dinner we started with the cullen skink and duck, and had pizzas for the main. All really tasty and well priced! The pizza is one of the best I've ever had AND they offer feta cheese as one of the toppings!! (Being Greek I enjoyed that). The next day my husband had a tasty lamb burger for lunch there and I ordered a (great) hot chocolate, which was served in a mug made and painted at the local pottery (as all the water jugs of different shapes, designs and colours - nice touch).
The tables and chairs are pale blue, which gives the cafe/restaurant a warm, marine-like character and the exhibits on the walls by local artists add to its unique character. They also sell ales from the two local breweries. The youth working in the kitchen are local teenagers and young adults. We therefore sensed a strong connection with the rest of the Cromarty community, which is great.
What is more, they cook seasonal and so their menu changes daily! One can never be bored eating there!
