Excellent basic hostel accomodation which offers rooms for solo travellers as well as groups, families or couples - rooms are clean bright and comfortable with the option to hire towels if needed.
Facilities include free WiFi , well equipped self catering kitchen , small hostel shop and well,... views to die for.
The main lounge is a very peaceful spot to read or just watch the wildlife - deer come right up to the windows here in the evening.
It is a short walk from the Walled Garden with it's lovely Potting Shed restaurant - fine dining which won't break the bank, in comfortable surroundings.
And it is not too far really ( 30 mins?) to walk down to the Applecross Inn for good pub grub and a pint or two .. or to try some of the activities on offer at Applecross Mountain and Sea Guides.
Hartfield house is newly opened to hostellers and work is continuing to make sure visitors will have everything they should expect - it is run by Venture Trust and I believe all profits will go to this charity which does such valuable work.
Staff are friendly welcoming helpful and Neil in particular is an absolute gem who seems to know everything you might want to know about Applecross.
A really nice place to stay and use as a base from which to explore this very beautiful part of Scotland.
