Spent 3 nights here with our 2yr old grandson and made a great decision when it came to wildside as the argus lodge was perfect for our needs and absolutely spotless on arrival with a warm welcome from Lorna + Alan.A quiet and peaceful area with plenty space to stretch your legs(and thats only in the garden.

Stayed for 2 nights in the Grouse Lodge for our sons 5th birthday treat and his pal. Lorna & Alan very welcoming and helpful on our arrival. The Lodge was spotless and roomy and catered to all our needs. Enjoyed exceptional weather for January, cold but very dry and sunny. Saw lots of wildlife on our walk to the Falls of Foyers. Will definately be back :)

My fiance and I treated friends of ours to a long weekend stay here as a gift. Long, tiring trip from Edinburgh (approx 4hrs), however this was proven to be well worth it immediately upon arrival. The online presence for these lodges does not do them justice at all.

The lodges are set in a fantastic coutryside setting in the small town of Whitebridge. The location is extremely quiet and tranquil with wild pheasants roaming the grounds. They are constructed of timber to the highest of standards and are decorated/finished to luxury levels.

Our lodge was a split level, 3 bedroom unit (1 en-suite), fully fitted kitchen, dining area, large lounge with wood burning stove, and bathroom with jaccuzzi bath. The couple running the site came to visit us following our arrival to see if we needed any assistance with anything and were extremely warm and welcoming (they had even left us a welcome basket full of handy provisions).

The lodges provide a fantastic setting to relax chill out and enjoy some downtime, however the surrounding area is well worth exploring and Loch Ness is easily reachable within 20 mins by car.

We'll definately be back!

We've just returned from two weeks at Wildside for Christmas and New Year and it was fantastic. Alan and Lorna, who look after the lodges are lovely people - very helpful and always happy to stop and chat.
The lodge was in great condition, everything worked, it was modern and it was spotless.
We arrived with a foot of snow on the ground, and the drive over the Suidhe from Fort Augustus was very very slow going due to the ice on the road, and a long climb then descent. It was a pretty magical journey all the same though with deer happily wandering along beside our car in the darkness!
The snow made the lodges look lovely but probably spoiled access to some of the activities. There is a lot to see or do in the area but they are fairly outdoor activities.
Our parents where in a smaller lodge and found they needed to burn the fire all the time, so logs were quite expensive for them. In our lodge however we found we didn't need the fire on at all except on a couple of evenings when there were only two of us in. It was -20 degrees one night so probably as good a test as you'll get for the insulating capabilities of the wooden lodges! They kept the heat in well.

It provided the perfect Christmas get-away for us. There's no internet or mobile phone signal so ideal if you want isolation. If you really do need contact with the outside world there is mobile reception within a 5 minute walk in any direction from the lodges.

We'd be very keen to go back in better weather if we wanted a more adventurous holiday. With the weather the only walks we did were down to the Falls of Foyers and up Beinn Sgurrach (the big hill immediately behind the lodges).

Perfect for a quiet get-away, or for sight seeing trips around the Loch Ness and adjoining areas.

I am just back from staying at the Wildside Highland Lodges 11-14 November and can honestly say it was fab! The place was spotless, had a very warm welcome from one of the owners Lorna and left feeling truly relaxed.

The setting of the lodges was very romantic and there were lovely walks to be had in the area. Fort Augustus/Loch Ness is a short drive away which means you are not left feeling cut off but far enough away that you feel away from it all.

Can honestly say I left feeling truly relaxed.

This was our first vist to Wildside lodges. We stayed a week at Otter lodge a 2 bedroom lodge situated close to a local river. The lodge was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and had all the living utensils you would require for a short stay. The wood burning stove was easy to use and provide a very good source of heat. Due to the earlier onset of dark winter evenings, the lodge was fitted with a small spotlight that you could switch on to view the stunning outside scenary. Local deer, hedgehogs and owls were regular night time visitors passing by the lodge. During the day, the lodge had a well stocked bird table which was frequently visited by a variety of garden and game birds. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and approachable. The site is located near to a village pub called the Whitebridge Inn, where the locals were very friendly and accomodating. Wildside is definately worth a visit for a peaceful and tranquil time.
