This B&B is the best we have stayed in. The location on the edge of Loch Ness is perfect and the accomodation was very comfortable and included all ammenities. Showers were hot and strong and the beds were very comfortable. After a warm welcome from our hosts, Catherine and Ian, we realised what a magnificent view lay before us. The grounds are beautifully kept and there is a pathway leading down to a jetty which is a perfect location for "Nessie" spotting. Catherine and Ian are very friendly and besides preparing a beautiful breakfast each day gave us good advice on how to best use our 2 night stay. The first thing we realised was that 2 nights wasn't enough for this beautiful and fascinating part of Scotland. On our first night we walked down to the local Glenmoriston Arms hotel for dinner. The meals were very good local faire including Venison Pie which was washed down nicely with a red wine. Note that it is a dark walk home and so we suggest taking advantage of Catherine's offer to pick guests up. The next day after a great breakfast we headed off to Urqhuart Castle which was a fascinating visit (about 1 hour) and then we drove to Isle of Skye which is a quite long (2 hour) drive but worth it for the great scenery along the way. We passed the very impressive Eilean Donan Castle (which if we had more time we would have liked to visit) and finally made it to Dunvegan (on the far west side of Isle of Skye) by lunch time and had a quick meal in the small and very quiet town before heading off to the Castle. On the way back we stopped for a very nice dinner (the Scottish Salmon was great) at Kintail Lodge Hotel and then continued on our way to Invermoriston. By this time it was dusk and just turning dark outside. Along the way you will see a lot of signs warning of deer running across the road. Well, it can happen. 10km from Invermoriston we just missed the first deer and the second one bumped the front passenger side of our car. It all happened in an instant. Fortunately, passengers and deer were ok and the hire car only had minor damage. With hearts pounding we drove slowly to the Glenmoriston Arms for a couple of heart starters!
Sadly, the next morning we had our last look around the grounds of this great B&B, walked out on to the jetty and took our final photos before reluctantly saying goodbye and heading on our way to Perth.
ps there is also free wireless which was easy to connect to.

Previous reviews of Tigh Na Bruach B&B are totally accurate. From the moment you turn into the driveway, see the beautifully maintained garden and view of Loch Ness an air of tranquility washes over you.

Catherine and Ian are first class hosts and ensure that not only will they make you feel welcome staying there but that nothing is too much trouble.

The decor is gorgeous, the rooms are spotless, the bed is very comfortable and there are lots of lovely thoughtful touches dotted about the room. The in room tourist information is very well presented and comprehensive.

Breakfast choices are excellent - the full Scottish Breakfast is delicious and a great way to set you up for the day.

The location is an ideal base for touring this area. The full day we had there we visited Urquhart Castle, drove the Kyle of Lochalsh road ( stunning drive), visited Eilean Donan Castle, had lunch in the picture postcard village of Plockton then headed up to Portree on the Isle of Skye - a terrific day.

It is hard not to overdose on superlatives when describing the Tigh Na Bruach B&B - but it is indeed a little piece of heaven on earth, one I would not hesitate recommending to anyone.

This is the most impressive place We've ever known. Your arrival through the gates of the drive just takes your breath away. Directly ahead of you is a fantastic view of Loch Ness. Our accomodation was absolutely out-of-this-world! There is NOTHING than can be said that would ever be detrimental to this location. It has extreme comforts with beautiful rooms and fittings, and with two of the most amiable hosts you could ever wish for! Nothing is too much trouble for them. The house, rooms, and gardens are immaculate in every respect - how they find the time to keep it up amazes us. The room and bed was so comfortable, and the view of the Loch so amazing, (even from the bed) that we got later and later coming to the dining room for breakfast. The meals were also astounding with more than enough for anyones' appetite and a huge selection as well!
Absolutely fantastic - Many Many thanks to our Hosts, Ian and Catherine.

This B&B really is wonderful, everything really is 5*. This is a great location, only a few steps to Loch Ness, just as described. A great base for seeing some of the most outstanding scenery in Scotland, everything is very easy to get to including Skye, or just relaxing and taking things easy. The rooms are some of the best we've stayed in anywhere in the world, the Breakfast is fabulous and Catherine and Ian are the most welcoming and friendly hosts.

The view, the facility & grounds, the hosts were all phenomenal. By far it was the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The only negative comment would be that the hosts were unable to arrange a viewing of the Loch Ness Monster!

Next time....
