“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

Catherine and Ian are wonderful hosts, with a wonderful B&B, in a beautiful location! So many little extra touches, I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. As an example, we were served high tea the afternoon of our arrival and each evening were given a menu to select our choices for the next days breakfast. We will most certainly return if we are ever fortunate enough to be in their area again.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good from our experience.

TighNa Bruach has to be one of if not the best B&B in the Highlands.Centrally placed (on the banks of Loch Ness) for touring from Sky on the West coast to Inverness and beyond on the East coast. With castles, historical sites and wonderful scenery.
The property is set in a tranquil non- touristy area and has its own beautiful gardens with walks along by and down to the loch. Each room has its own verandah with uninterrupted views of the loch. Our room was clean ,comfortable, well furnished and spacious.
The hosts Catherine and Ian are the most hospitable friendly people who are only too pleased to offer good local advice on restaurants and eating places and information on possible visits to suit your tastes and requirement's for your holidays added enjoyment.
The breakfasts are an absolute treat and cater for all tastes and appetites large or small using locally sourced food where possible.
All in all our stay at Tight Na Bruach was to say the least everything we could have wished for and more.
Thank you Catherine and Ian.We hope to visit again soon.

This wonderful B&B on Loch Ness is a perfect spot to stay if you are interested in touring the Scottish Highlands. The property is lovely and located in a quiet, non-touristy area. We've stayed in many B&B's across the world and this one is top notch. Catherine & her husband go out of thier way to make sure you are well cared for during your stay. No detail is overlooked. They even had washcloths...which you won't find in many places in Europe! There was a nice selection of teas, coffee, even hot cocoa in the room, along with a decanter of brandy and some chocolates. She had tea & cakes ready for us in the afternoon and water available for us in the common eating area. Very well thought out and customer focused. Catherine was interested to find out what your interests were & made suggestions to satisfy those interests.

Urquhart Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, & the Isle of Skye are within easy driving distance. We were blessed with good weather during our stay and doubly blessed by the fortune of meeting Lady MacRae while visiting Eilean Donan. She is a lovely lady! It was the highlight of my day being able to talk breifly with her. I highly recommend Tigh Na Bruach!

Room Tip: All rooms are spacious and clean and have a porch to sit on that faces the Loch.

Breakfasts at this excellent B&B were a feast. porridge was raised to a whole new level with three elegant china jugs one with malt whisky , one with double cream and the third with honey Wow!
The sideboard was groaning with cereals , fresh fruit platter, assorted home made jams, honey thick creamy yogurt..... Plus there was a different breakfast menu each day with extra dishes such as crumpet with back , poached egg and melted Brie, and the full Scottish breakfast sported haggis, black pudding etc etc. We certainly didn't need lunch.
Tea on arrival was home made scones and jam and fresh raspberry and cream sponge served with delicate china on the private patio overlooking the Loch
There was a sherry decanter in the room with elegant glassware, tea tray, hair dryer white towelling robes.... You wouldn't, find a better appointed room in a five star hotel in London. ... in fact having stayed in one or two I think this is better! Certainly the personal service from the charming hosts Ian and Catherine was exceptional.
The room was very large excellent ensuite with double sink vanity unit and walk in shower
The 4 acres of woods with private Loch shoreline were lovely to stroll around
I blinked when I originally saw the price when booking but seriously it was worth every penny

Room Tip: All three rooms face the Loch and all have equally good aspects.

Tigh Na Bruach has to be one of the best B&Bs anywhere. Everything is just perfect from the clean spacious and comfortable rooms to the outstanding and friendly service from your first class hosts Catherine & Ian. Located right on the shores of Loch Ness with wonderful views across the loch from every room, a stay at Tigh Na Bruach will leave you wanting for nothing other than to return again and again. With the Isle of Skye, The Black Isle and Glen Coe plus a host of other stunning scenery all within an hours drive as well as right on your doorstep, Tigh Na Bruach is perfectly located to tour this part of Scotland. If you want a more relaxing day, why not just sit in or stroll around the gardens and watch the activity on Loch Ness. If you fancy fishing for Nessie from their own private gravel beach, Ian will even lend you a fishing rod to have a go with. All of this comes from experience as I've stayed with Catherine and Ian three times now and can honestly say that they are some of the most enjoyable holidays I've had. In short if you want a wonderful holiday in a wonderful location with wonderful hosts you'll find no better place to stay than Tigh Na Bruach.

As ever Paul, we loved having the three of you stay with us again. Always the highlight of our Spring, not only do the flowers arrive but you come too. It's great to have guests say nice things about us, but we'd like to return the favour and say we're looking forward to next year, and seeing you all again, not as guests, as friends.

a trip to Scotland for my husbands 50th birthday in march 2013 included the first 2 nights staying with Catherine and Ian, we had a lovely welcome with coffee and scones, cakes & tea whenever we came in. Breakfast was lovely and I especially recumbent Ian's porridge :)

We took the sun with us when the UK had rain and clouds we awoke to a stunning view. Highly recommend this place and this couple, would stay again if visiting the area, if you want to see the loch it doesn't get much closer than this

Room Tip: All the rooms overlook the Loch as I understand, the pub up the road will give you an education in w...

Catherine and Ian are your very welcoming hosts at this wonderful B&B spectacularly located on the shore of Loch Ness.

We spent three nights in Tigh Na Bruach in August. The B&B is located just out of the village of Invermoriston and close to Fort Augustus where there are a number of restaurants. We stayed in the Fort William room, a very large and comfortable room with a king sized bed.

There are great breakfasts, a very large and comfortable room and wonderful scenery, a perfect B&B. Tigh Na Bruach is a great base for the highlands with day trips to Inverness, the Isle of Skye, the Lochs and the coast all easily possible.

Highly recommended.
