“A lovely B&B hosted by two lovely sisters”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011

Lindsey and Manda are lovely hosts and greet you as friends rather than clients. They provide "great" customer service and want to share their home with you. The rooms are very nice and comfortable and breakfast excellent. We would definitely recommend and will stay there again when in the area.

Room Tip: Any room would be very quiet

We were walking the Great Glen Way and booked in to this B&B via the internet.
A lovely, clean room. Made to feel most welcome.
The sisters made their home our home for the night... they even got the foot spa out for my weary feet.
A great breakfast saw us on our way.
....well recommended.

Hi
Thanks very much for taking the time to write a review, it is much appreciated. I hope that the foot spa eased your feet sufficiently for your walk to Drunmadrochit.
Take care of each other

My husband and I were cycling the Great Glen Way and booked in to Craik Na Dav as it is right on the actual route. We arrived after a days cycling to a very warm welcome from the owners, Lindsey and Manda. They showed us to our room which was immaculate and like the rest of the house, decorated to a very high standard. We then joined the hosts in their lounge for a most welcome cold drink ( having been offered a range of hot or cold drinks and fruit cake) and they both made us feel so very welcome. They showed a vast knowledge of the local area and wildlife and we very much enjoyed their company. They kindly booked us in to the local hotel for dinner, it was only a five minute walk away and we had a really nice meal there. On our return we met their three gorgeous westies, Angus, Frazer and Skye - all well behaved boys and SO cute. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable with a kettle and a good assortment of hot drinks as well as delicious home made biscuits and a decanter of whisky. The shower was nice and powerful and we had a really good nights sleep. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and getting a menu the previous night to tick off the exact items we wanted was a really good idea and one of which other B & Bs should take note. We enjoyed watching the various species of wild birds which frequented the many feeders in the grounds of the house and were so privileged to be able to spend quite a long time watching a red squirrel enjoying a hearty breakfast just a few feet from the window!. A truly fantastic stay with excellent, friendly, welcoming, caring and hard working hosts in a breathtaking setting. We were both sorry to leave and will definitely be back. I really can't recommend Craik Na Dav highly enough. By far the best B & B we have ever stayed in.

Hi Fiona
It was so nice to meet you and Davie and I hope that he enjoyed the rest of his cycle ride. A shame you coud not carry on but I am sure you will polish off the Great Glen Way easily next time. It was also very interesting to learn more about our house's history from your brother in law.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review for us, and such a nice one !
Kind regards

Great hospitality and very good value for money! The B&B also offers lunch boxes for £4.50 with handmade sandwiches, crisps, chocolate, cereal bars, juice or water which was great for when we left and continued our trip, rooms are spacious, quiet and with complimentary handmade biscuits and whisky! Overall we would go back!

Hi Dora
Thanks so much for writing a review for us, its good of you to take the time for us. It was great to meet you all and I hope the weather in Dundee is not too cold after your home in Greece. The photos you showed us of Greece were so lovely we have added it to our list of places to visit.
Take care

My family and I have just returned from walking The Great Glen Way, every July we walk a different long distance route camping every night bar one round about the middle of the walk when we like to book into a B&B to avail ourselves of home comforts for one night.
This year we stayed at Craik Na Dav in Invermoriston, and I can honestly say we have never in our experience of B&B's received such a warm welcome, the warmth and friendliness continued throughout our stay.
The owners Lyndsey and Manda were the perfect hosts, we felt like we were part of their family, they just couldn't do enough for us, nothing was ever too much trouble for them.
The touches they provide make such a difference, for example, being greeted on our arrival with steaming hot coffee and delicious home made cake, the shortbread and a wee dram in the bedroom, nice.
We all had a wonderfull nights sleep and woke to the most gorgeous breakfast which more than set us up for the long walk we had ahead of us.
We all felt a touch of sadness when we left in the morning, we discussed Craik Na Dav as we walked and were all agreed it was by far the best B&B any of us had stayed in, everything about the place was just wonderful, we couldn't find a single fault.
We would like to thank the girls, they have certainly found that magical touch, more power to your elbow, we will definately visit again when in the area.

Picture this: You and your family stranded in Loch Ness... rain clouds fill the sky... and you carry 40Kg worth of luggage. This happened to us this summer. My wife, kid and I, by mistake, ended up in the wrong B&B at Invermoriston (I had originally reserved in another place at Lochend). With a child, and a non-promising weather, it was too late to go back and look for the right place. A good samaritan pointed us in the direction of Craik Na Dav. Keeping our fingers crossed for availability, I knocked up the door of this hidden B&B to encounter Manda's smile. Exactly what I needed, a friendly smile... Lindsey and Manda (the owners) truly embody the spirit of hospitality. The cleanliness and comfort of their B&B, its closeness to River Moriston's outfall and woods around it complete the picture of a wonderful retreat. We had a pleasant albeit short stay. I highly recommend the Craik Na Dav B&B.

Hi Fernando, Liliana and Camile
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review for us. We greatly enjoyed your company and I am so pleased we managed to help you out with your bookings and transport. It was a shame we were unable to offer you the room for the whole of your holiday due to us being booked, but it is so nice to hear that you had a good time. We look forward to your next visit and to us learning more French from Camile !
Take care of each other
Kind regards

The location of this bed and breakfast was excellent, just behind the village pub, and on the great glen way route. The sisters were extremely welcoming with cake and a chat with them on arrival. The rooms were fit for purpose but not as good as other reviews may picture it. Nice touches such as whiskey for a wee dram were a lovely thought.
As you can see from a surprisingly high number of reviews since they opened a year ago they have established a good reputation. However the girls had a very attentive and inclusive approach which for some travellers will be a bit of a chore. For many this may be the ideal but for those that like their own space it may compromise an otherwise relaxing stay.

Hi
We do strive to ensure everyone enjoys their stay with us but obviously on this occasion we failed and we apologise. As you can see from our other reviews all of our other guests appreciate our hospitality during their stay.
We find that most visitors enjoy a drink and a chat but we would not be offended if you said no thanks and wanted to spend time alone and do offer the opportunity of having your drink and cake in your room instead of the lounge on arrival.
Hopefully you enjoyed the rest of your walk.
Kind regards
Lindsey & Manda
