“Loch Ness Walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

Stayed here for one night, walking here from Lower Foyers, we were made very welcome on arrival, could not fault the room or the breakfast, would recommend this B&B to anyone. Situated right at the end of Loch Ness, it is ideal for exploring the area, boat trips and viewing the impressive canal locks in action.

It's such a beautiful B&B! We arrived last night looking for a place to stay and we felt really welcomed! The house is beautifully decorated! And so clean, there is not a single dot of dust. Owners are very, very nice. If I come back to this area I will make sure I book in advance to ensure I have a place here. Thanks Ian & Sue!

Ian and Sue have recently taken over from Sheila. I stayed there for over three weeks while waiting for accommodation. I got to know the place and the owners pretty well. I can guarantee you that they love what they do and are committed to offering the best quality service and making sure your enjoy your stay. They have an excellent flexibility and are always here to help and make sure you have everything you need. Everything runs smoothly. You will love staying at Bank House.

Stayed here in September, as the previous reviews say it is a lovely place, with a good view outside, and costed 70£ for our family for a night, which included a pretty good breakfast. comlimentary biscuits, coffee/tea facilities available in the room. the room itself is clean and pleasant. The man who greeted us I think it was the owner Ian, is very friendly and helpfull.

Stayed one night in late July. Booked the Bank House for its location and we weren't disappointed - the best B&B during our trip. Great view overlooking the locks on the canal and within walking distance to everything in Fort Augustus. Room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and plentiful. Try the local fish and chip shop for dinner and take in the canal and lake views as you 'picnic' beside the locks - perfect!

We spent one night in early August. We had no idea the place was under new ownership, but we'd never have known it from the reception. We had reserved a room (I think it was the Turret room) with a view of the locks on the Canal--I knew my husband would love that--and it was indeed an amazing view! I took a movie of some boats traveling through the lock right from our window! We stayed in Fort Augustus because we were booked for a ride the next morning with Cruise Loch Ness, so we were delighted to discover that the boat dock was within very easy walking distance of the B&B. Ian recommended The Boathouse for dinner, and it was a nice short walk and a fine choice. Afterwards, Ian filled us in on what to expect on the RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) ride, which was a big help in planning how to dress the next morning. Since one part of the B&B building contains an office of the Bank of Scotland, we had thought perhaps there would be an ATM right there, but this turned out not to be the case--the bank is only open for a few limited hours weekly and there is no ATM. But Ian directed us to an ATM an easy walk away. Breakfast was great, and Ian even carried our suitcases out to the car for us. All in all, a great, friendly place to stay. We'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Caledonian Canal!

We stayed here for 1 night while walking the Great Glen. Our room was by far the best we have stayed in. Spacious, comfortable with a modern large bathroom. Our breakfast was all you could wish with good choice and freshly cooked. For those interested the packed lunch was to a high standard and very tasty. Located near the top of the locks the resteraunts and pub are very nearby. Memorable stay!
