“cooked to order.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

There is a lot of competition for great fish and chips in Scotland, but this place was very good and the cook has a sense of humour.

“Best Cheap Take Away Fish and Chips North of Manchester”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

The Canalside shop is a one man fast fish and chips place which also sells about a hundred other quick deepfried menu items. Stop in Fort Augustus to watch the loch operate, and run up to the Canalside shop for some fine and cheap lunch. It's not fancy, nor is it supposed to be, just good.

“Great experience with fish and chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

One man shop. Every meal is prepered on order, so there is some waiting time. No stress, but a smile and a good comment from the man in the shop. He took three or four orders, cooked the meals and every time he had had money in his hands, he washed his hands before making the next portion. He must have done that a lot of times every day. The chips were crispy and the haddock was realy good. Absolutly worth waiting for.

NOT REAL CHIPS...... and the fish wasn't great either. Maybe we just went on an off day but there are plenty more places too eat.
