“Wonderful location, wonderful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

My girlfriend & myself spent 2 nights at the property while sightseeing around northern Scotland.
The hosts, Mike & Linda made us feel so welcome, it was like a home away from home.
The property itself is in a great location with great views, very comfortable and one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed in.
If you're looking for a place to base yourself while checking out the sights around Loch Ness, you can't go wrong with this choice.
I believe the property is also pet friendly from the conversations we had with them.
There's a beautiful hill behind the property that you can go for a wander up if you want some fresh air. We both loved it and can't wait to visit again next time we're in the area.

Room Tip: There's only two rooms, one that's suitable for a couple with a really comfy bed & toile...

My daughter and I have just spent two nights at Torran B&B and we really loved the place and the people. Linda welcomes you as if you were old friends and really makes you feel at home. We didn't see Mike much but he was also very nice and helpful. As they only accommodate one family at a time, we had two rooms, a small living-room and a large bathroom for the most reasonable price ever. Breakfast was a real treat. We had never had so much to eat in any other place before and it was particularly tasty. Linda invited us to some more but, full as we were, it was impossible ! We found a whole pack of shortbread biscuits next to the tea tray, when all other B&Bs give you only four! We actually ate only four from the pack on arriving and, on the next day, a new pack was there for us. How can other B&Bs charge £85 or more when you get so much for only £60?
I should also mention the location that makes the place so unique. From the top of the hill, just behind the house, you enjoy the most beautiful view of Loch Ness from the highest viewpoint around. Even from one of the rooms you can see the Loch in the distance. We could see it better if the neighbours accepted to cut some trees which, we were told, they refuse to do... Torran B&B is a bit far from town (Drumnadrochit) but it's only a 5 minutes drive and it is so quiet.
We have been to many places, some were good, others were disappointing, but now that our stay in Scotland is drawing to an end I can't think of a better place than this one.

We stayed at Torran in June 2013 as a stop over whilst cycling Land's End to John O'Groats. We all thought it was a fabulous B&B and were really grateful to both Mike and Linda for how warm and welcoming they were.

A great place to stay.

Stayed the weekend as a base for Angela to run the loch ness marathon. Linda and Mike couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. It was great to have a living area as well as the bedroom, especially with our dogs. Very comfortable and great breakfast. Paul & Angela.

We highly recomend this B&B. My husband and I booked Torran for 4 nights to use as a base whilst walking sections of the Great Glen Way. After some long day walks it was the ideal place to rest and recover being warm, very comfortable and offering great facilities. Mike was a top host and his lovely breakfasts were a perfect start to the day. It was a peaceful and scenic location being out of the village but up a single track hill road so a car is handy if you are less able to walk. Drumnadrochit is a well serviced village and we were able to use local buses to get us to and fro our walk start points each day. Mike and Linda were very welcoming to us and our little dog and we appreciate the extra little special touches that they provide. The Great Glen Way is a facinating and scenic walk which can be done in a week and Torran is ideal for a stop over or base to explore this wonderful area.

What a lovely couple Mike and Linda are. The accomodation was terrific. Breakfast was a full Scottish breakfast. The house is situated at the top of a hill with fantastic views. It is surrounded by countryside which our 2 dogs loved. If I didn't know better I'd say they enjoyed our 2 night break more than we did! So many beautiful places nearby to visit. My favourite was Glen Affric with it's lovely waterfalls. Anyone with dogs will enjoy a stay at Torran. It is so friendly yet it is like being on your own as Linda and Mike leave you alone.

Room Tip: There is only one room which is very comfortable and has terrific views. Very peaceful.
