“A Romantic and Relaxing Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2010

I spent my Valentine's Day weekend at Great Glen B and B with my partner. Our days were spent playing with the farm animals and using the B and B's bikes to tour the area. Our nights were equally as lovely, as they have an amazing hot tub to relax in and sat watching shooting stars on the patio just outside our bedroom. One of my favorite parts of the trip however, were the beautiful purebred Siamese cats! The bedroom and bathroom were impeccably clean and tidy, the breakfasts were amazing, and the entire B and B was comfortable and welcoming. The owners were very kind, helpful, and all around lovely people. This B and B is perfect for couples, but I know that families with small children would love it as well. I loved my stay and the Great Glen B and B, and definitely plan on going back again soon!

One of the best and friendliest B & B's I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a few! Very high standards all round, well situated for a variety of activities and friendly, helpful owners.

What a gem! This place certainly delivers on its promises - and more. Milk in the fridge, M&S toiletries, loan of a map, welcome for my dog (who slept in the car), sound advice on route planning etc. Sonia and Graham are wonderful hosts, friendly without being intrusive. It was a real treat to come back after a day's walking to the hot tub and Sonia's cooking. The patio was a lovely place to relax in the evening - so few b&b's have outdoor facilities for guests. Would definitely stay there again.

We were only there for one night, but the experience was excellent. A lot of thought has gone into the house, the decor and facilities for visitors. Visitors are encouraged to use the main family lounge area to mix with other guests and the owners. There are horses, highland cattle and sheep for those who want to experience "life on a farm". The accommodation is excellent as is the food (breakfast and evening meal) at a very reasonable price. A very good quality B&B delivered by owners who are approachable, friendly and most important of all, know what they are doing.

We had a great time in Anderson Farmhouse. Our 13 year old daughter loved to be so near the horses and sheep. Also the nice cats in the house were very cute.
And of course the trampoline was her favourite.
The suite was very comfortable with a super nice big bed , the luxury of a nice big kitchen, separate room for children and a nice great spacey shower.
Very special was our evening in the jacuzzi. Even nice big towels and bathrobes were available !
Sonia and Graham are really nice friendly people. Breakfast was perfectly made .
We felt very relaxed and wished we could stay longer than just 2 nights. We probably will come again some time in the future.

Superb location a few miles outside Drumnadrochit on the road to Glen Affric.. Accommodation was everything we could have wished for - very clean and comfortable with all modern amenities. Our hosts- Sonia and her husband, even allowed our 2 dogs to stay with us (1 suite is reserved for pet owners). They even went the extra mile by preparing a superb "Candlelit Dinner" for us as we were entertaining 3 of our friends who were also on holiday in the area. I highly recommend Great Glen B&B (Anderson Farmhouse) to anyone travelling in the area, I am sure you will not be dissappointed. For anyone with children, there is plenty to entertain them.

I booked Great Glen after finding it on the internet and I'm so pleased that we did. Sonia and Graham were so friendly and helpful. The accommodation was spotlessly clean. We were in the Affric Suite which had a nice large shower room and double bed with a little put me up bed for our 12 year old snuggly fitted in the corner. Sky tv came as standard and tea and coffee facilities were on hand in our room. Our suite had its own door leading directy onto an outdoor patio area complete with bbq, patio furniture and garden swing. Our son enjoyed playing football and scoring between the goalposts in the garden and bouncing on the giant trampoline!!
We booked the fantastic hot tub and once in, we didn't want to get out! Only emerging once we were well and truly wrinkled up!
We booked an evening meal, which was gorgeous and the breakfast in the morning was a real treat too. Plenty of cereals, fruit juices and yogurts as well as toast with our cooked breakfast and the most gorgeous jams and marmalade all washed down with delicious coffee or proper tea in the pot, using a strainer to pour.
Our son is autistic and needs to be in a relaxed environment, which Great Glen definetely is. Sonia and Graham made us feel so welcome and at home. Their pet cats are the most beautiful things and my husband made a real friend with their male cat, who sat purring on his knee in the evening, which apparently is unheard of!
All in all, a wonderful break in a breathtaking part of Scotland, with hosts who make you feel part of the family.
Please go and experience Great Glen for yourself. The title, Bed & Breakfast doesn't do it justice. Miss it and miss out.
