“The Best B&B - Spectacular views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2010

Having stayed at many B&B's and Hotels in Scotland, especially in the Dornoch area, I can honestly say this offers the best value for money with rooms of a higher standard then many of the Local Hotels. The rooms (all ensuite) are always spotless, comfortable, well maintained and the breakfasts are first class, providing a good choice of food and always beautifully cooked. The entire top floor is given up for the benefit of the guests, which not only offer spectauclar views across Loch Fleet which you enjoy as you eat your breakfast, but also provide a comfortable lounge where you can relax and take in the views at your leisure. Most importantly Julie is welcoming and would do anything for you to make sure your stay is an enjoyable, comfortable and happy one. I do not hesitate to highly recommend this lovely B&B, where we have stayed on many different occassions during the past 7 or so years, and look forward to doing so again (as soon as possible!!!!).

Bedroom and the facilities spotless and as comfortable as a 5* hotel. Breakfast in the bright upstairs lounge was spot on and the views are everything you would expect in the 'heilans' including one morning,a deer and her foal at the edge of the forest.. Thanks Julie for making my brother and I feel at home

We recently stayed at Fourpenny Cottage for a couple of nights and we were delighted with our choice. Julie is a great host who cannot do enough to cater for every need you may have.
We were travelling in a group of 6 adults and 2 children and Julie kindly gave over the whole of the main house to us for our stay. The large breakfast room/TV room upstairs ws great for the kids to run around in and burn off energy and the conservatory was just the place to relax after a game of golf or a day on the beach.
The location could not be better either, with great views down towards Loch Fleet and over the surrounding countryside. Very peaceful.
I must mention the breakfasts too as Julie serves the best black pudding ever, from the local butchers in Dornoch.
The bedrooms all appear to be recently renovated and are kitted out with beautiful muted tartan woollen bed covers and curtains, even if our youngest members of the party declared the as itchy! The rooms are well stocked with modern facilities (good tea making equipment, flat screen tvs alarm clocks etc) and really we ha no grumbles about our stay at all.
This place is well worth looking up.

A warm welcome awaits you at Fourpenny, with very private spotlessly clean rooms, and a great breakfast, with a wide selection to start your day, and best of all some wonderful stunning views whilst you are eating. Fourpenny Cottage is a located in a very quiet location with some lovely walks and views around Embo and Dornoch.
Not to be missed.
