“amazing food with tip top service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

Some friends and myself stayed at The Drummond and decided to dine there. The menu was extensive and included a plethora of locally sourced ingredients. The resulting meal was fantastic and the service was second to none. I would recommend the Chef special. The said, creator of these fine ensembles came to discuss his menu personally (A little touch of class) and we were far from disappointed. The food is buttressed by a fine selection of wines and an array of the finest whiskeys expertly extolled by the professional bar staff. The Drummond is a must for all food lovers. Don't forget to try the whiskeys!

“Steak pie - amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2011

WE were staying at the four seasons hotel - the food there was pretty rank so we went to the Drummond. The food there was basic but good and the steak pie was the best I've ever had!!

“Like walking into the Addams family home!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2010

On a recent stay in nearby Dunira, we visited the Drummond Hotel in the hope of having a meal. We soon saw sense however and only stayed for a drink.
Walking into this place was like walking into the home of the Addams family. It had a strange atmosphere as though people were looking at us through pictures on the wall!!
We went to the bar and ordered from drinks from a man who was shuffling around. It had been quiet when we entered, and you could virtually hear a pin drop. but suddenly they put on some background music, obviously in the hope of keeping us there.
As the only people in the restraruant we sat with our drinks and the waitress called round to ask about our order. She looked like one of the undead with teeth like a row of houses in Kosovo.
After seeing he state of her yellow chiselled nashers we decided not to eat there after all, despite her saying seveleral times "PLEASE STAY".
The manager also shufflled around followed by a large fat casting labrador, placing reserved signs on tables to fool us into thinking it was a happening place.
We made a sharp exit soon after. What a weird place!

“Terribly Rude Owners, Great Staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2010

I cant agree with the negative reviews of this hotel enough. I was absolutly flabergasted to see that our waiter (who was extremely professional and friendly) was being viciously shouted at by one of the two owners within earshot of guests.

While eating at the lounge Restaurant (food was nice, service very good) the owners seemed to have a belief that for some reason we had been forced to endure a terrible wait for our meals, which was not the case. (Perhaps fed by there many drinks while sitting at the bar). One of the owners kept apologising to us and making statements about the terrible quality of staff. (Staff which were much much more proffesional and friendly than her). At the end of our meal as we left we could hear her yelling and swearing at the staff just away from the main entrance slurring her words and all.

Such a shame for a beautiful place. If only the English owners would give it back to the Scottish locals and very nice staff (you deserve better work).

Stay in one of the other nice hotels in this very pretty and nice town.
