“The best restaurant in Scotland?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We treated ourselves to dinner at Andrew Fairlie at the end of our stay at Gleneagles. The food was delicious, service pretty faultless. It's not perfect - it is very expensive and the room isn't my favourite - with no windows to enjoy the beautiful scenery - but it is very good indeed. The best restaurant in Scotland? Possibly.

“Outstanding dining experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Having eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world I can honestly say Andrew Fairlie remains the best of them all. Utterly unforgettable experience, stylish and classy interior, excellent service and, of course, the most delicious food! We went for the tasting menu and couldn't get enough of anything - every course presented to us instantly became our favourite - until the next one came along... Stunning! Can't wait to go back there, only this time - we'll book at least two evenings of pure culinary indulgence...

“Simply wonderful, again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Degustation for 5 persons including matching wine samplings. Wonderful. Unique. Special.

Only downside was the intrusive noise from nearby the very adjacent banquet suite. Spoiled the ambience somewhat.

Can't say it's good value but I didn't grudge spending a penny.

“One of the best in the world ?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

This is not just because I'm Scottish and this place knows how to serve the best we have to offer locally . I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world but few have come up to the standard that Andrews serves at gleneagles . From start to finish it is a culinary experience all foodies need to enjoy . We have had the set menu on both occasions , on both occasions have altered it slightly and I would recommend with caution taking the wines, they do fit very well with the course but after 6 large glasses ( we did have few drinks in the bar before due to the amazing whisky selection ) you may be a little tipsy . The service is as you would expect first class but unlike some Michelin starred established not uncomfortably so . Andrew even pops out to see how you are getting on and has a chat about his food . I asked him how he made one element of a dish and for it to take all day to prepare you quickly understand why he is a master at work . The slight set back I suppose is that you really need to stay at the hotel which a more expensive than I would like, but if you use the facilities on offer probably well worth it . I suppose I could go in to every dish but a) would be boring and b) the wine may have altered my memory . All in all
