I have been twice now to Cafe Kisa and have enjoyed it immensely on both occasions. I had one of their signature salads both times, a chicken one and a prawn one, both were delicious. These are good salads. When I say the food is interesting I mean it in a very positive way. The salads have nice bits of fruit in them which adds to the flavour, the helpings are adequate and there is a choice of salad dressing which I suspect is home made like the rest of the food. On my last visit I had home made meringues for dessert which is a particular favourite of mine and which went down very nicely with a cup of coffee.
The Cafe seems to have a varied clientele, there are locals who are known to the staff (in my mind, it is always a good sign when locals frequent the premises) and being near Gleneagles there seems to be a mixture holiday makers and day trippers.
The Cafe is a good place to have a coffee, a quick snack or for lunch. I don't know if it is open for evening meals, I do hope it is as it would be a nice place to have dinner. I did try to find out but they don't appear to have a website which is a shame.
The only slightly negative point I wish to make about Cafe Kisa is that the entrance is not that accessible for wheelchairs. There is a small step at the entrance and the door opens out the way so taking a run at it is not feasible. On both occasions I have called on the goodwill of passersby to hold the door open for me. It would be very easy to alter the entrance to provide unhindered access for wheelchairs and buggies. That said this will not put me off going again, the food is so good that it is well worth risking life and limb for!
