We stayed at Mains of Taymouth in October and we had such a great time I thought I had to spread the word. Kenmore is a lovely little village by Loch Tay in Perthshire which is just in the Highlands but not remote. The cottages we stayed in were amazing. They really were 5 star and stylish. Mains Park Court was a huge 5 bedroom house with a sauna and hot tub in the garden annd the bedrooms were all ensuite. The kitchen was fantastic and lounge big enough for us all to socialise in which was just as well as it was our anniversary hence we were staying in the Bell Tower. It was adertised as for the discerning couple and they were not wrong. Four poster bed, lovely lounge and designer kitchen and a spa bathroom with sauna and steam room!
The estate had its own Kenmore Golf Course next door (and it was a good one), The Courtyard is just down the road and is amazing - it is a lovely bar and restaurant with open fire and a deli nextdoor. The owners daughter was about to open stables and I think that will be a winner with all the lovely walks and traks around and what scenery. we hired a boat in the village and I heard the fishing was good and the boys fished in the river with some success.
Needless to say we had a great time and would recommend kenmore and Mains of Taymouth to anyone looking for adventure or relaxation.
