“disapointing would be an understatement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2010

Well situated, set in lovely grounds, we stayed in main hotel which has been partly refurbished, our room was big and spacious with a huge bed,but no satelite telly as was stated on website. That I'm afraid was all that was good for us.We prepaid for DB&B,BIG MISTAKE,the food was terrible. The same veg every night was nearly raw[this was taking crisp to a new level]on the other hand tuna was over cooked,Lamb??[did not even taste like lamb]was mostly fat, chicken and salmon were bland. It was the same menu for the whole of our 3 night stay, and on the third night they had ran out of two choices. The restaurant is in need of a make over,it is so drab and has a muskey smell, and they play this repetitive music all the time. There is no nice lounge where you can have a pre or post dinner drink or even just to sit and chill. There is a Terrace bar upstairs next to leisure centre were food is also served, it's like a convenience for people and kids coming from the pool area.
Most disappointing break for a long time, one which we were so looking forward to.

Just returned from 3 nights stay, first impression was good, lovely grounds with hotel and cottages, all very well maintained. The hotel is currently under refurbushment until end of june but this didn't hinder the experience. The rooms are large, modern and very clean with a large bathroom with huge deep bath. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The games room was set up each day with a different activity e.g. Badmington, bowls, tennis etc, there is a small pool and steam room, as fas as I could see this area wasn't under refurbishment but it should be, changing rooms extremely dated. The restaurant was very dull and unwelcoming, the food was nice but overpirced. Caesar sald was £9 in bar and £13.90 in restaurant for the same size serving of a cold chicken salad which was drowned in caesar dressing. Overall very clean and comfortable rooms but the hotel sadly lacks any atmosphere.

This is a very impressive complex consisting of pretty cottages and a beautiful hotel. Our suite was very clean, modern and really comfortable. There are loads of indoor facilites which are essential for the Scottish weather.
Food a bit pricey but of a very high standard.
Our only complaint was the noise made by tree felling outside our room. It couldnt be helped as it was snow damage, but perhaps the management could have offered a little something in the way of compensation.
However, we still enjoyed our stay and would love to go back.

Room was nice probably was 4 star as expected (superior), staff friendly. However the bar area was below par - not what I would expect of a country house hotel - was part of games room/swimming pool complex, and wasn't even open on the sunday. Pool was on the chilly side. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, no windows, despite the hotel being located in great surroundings. My wife's food was a bit disappointing, therefore we went to a different hotel for dinner the next night.
Good duck pond tho!

Gorgeous location with beautiful rooms and very plesant staff, especially Jackie who seemed to be the only member of staff who had a clue what was going on !! The bar is far from a relaxing experience and is furnished in a very stark manner, as this is the only bar available if you were looking for a place to have a relaxing pre/post dinner drink...forget it!! Mind you .....you will probably need a stiff drink before you enter the dining room...a very drab affair with terrible music playing on a continual loop..hear it at breakfast hear it at dinner!! The food when you finally get it...if they haven't lost your order or given it to someone else is mediocre..the menu seems to never change so if you are staying longer than 2 nights this may be a problem !!!! My advice to the Owners of this resort is invest some money in staff training and create a Country Club atmosphere with some ambiance and you will reap the rewards

This hotel and time share village is top quality in all areas, that covered our 3 night mid-term break.

Location is fine, a 15 minute walk from Aberfeldy and peaceful at night. The design of the 2 bed 'villa' was well planned for comfort and the quality of the interior, kitchen, bathrooms etc was extremely high - we were really impressed by this. The rate was excellent and we felt we really had great value for money. The facilities were super with a very good sized pool that the children loved after a long day out walking, steam room, as well as the small indoor playarea (too cold to use the outdoor one, again quite small but loads of grounds for children to run around)

We didn't use the restaurant / bistro having chosen instead to bring our own food (always wary of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with poor quality / value food offerings) however the equipment in the kitchen was great and we really felt at home.

We had read tripdvisor before booking so we were aware that electricity is charged on top of the nightly rate and also to ask for a refurbished villa. Only niggles were no access to wifi / broadband in the villa and reception staff were not the most customer focused, welcoming or informative.

In summary would definately recommend Moness and we are planning a return visit at Easter.

I had booked Moness as a Xmas present for my husband. I was looking for somewhere a bit special with good food and wine as it was also our first night away together aIone without children! So I booked the honeymoon suite. Our room was lovely - everyhting I had hoped, clean, spacious, beautiful bathroom with double shower and huge rolltop bath. Obviously all very new but also well maintained.

We had on arrival had a quick look at the restaurant and one bit of advice - there is a reason there are no pictures of it on the website ..... the reality is something that looks dated, very temporary and at best a function suite with tables randomly positioned around a fake plant.

So later on we arrived down for dinner a really limited and expensive menu (luckily I had booked DBB). Staff were friendly but gave the overall impression of complete disorganisation which did not really improve throughout the meal. The meal itself was fine no real complaints however based on the website my expectations had been much higher than what was on offer.

So my advice - lovely place to stay but go to Kenmore Courtyard 6 miles up the road for dinner!
