“Tasty food and stunning views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

A very pleasing, spotlessly clean and welcoming tea rooms serving simple hot meals, toasties, jacket potatoes etc and a lovely selection of cakes.
I really enjoyed Stilton burger with chips -it was good quality and very tasty. The carrot cake was excellent. The service was efficient and friendly.
It's in a great location - handy for a walk around the wartime ruins on Hoxa Head. Large windows allow guests to enjoy the simply stunning views.
If I could make one criticism it would be that with a tiled floor and bare walls it is very echoey - extra pictures and thicker drapes might help with the ambience.

“Great food and coffee, fantastic views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

A very friendly welcome was followed by a very nice cuppa and some scrumptious cake, which all went extremely well with the superb views over the sea.

“Lovely little out of the way tearoom”

Lovely little tearoom well worth a trip to the middle of nowhere location. Usual tearoom fare but with good service and good views.

“Wonderful Cafe!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Hoxa Tearoom in St. Margaret's Hope in the Orkneys is a delightful spot: beautiful location, excellent home-cooked food, and really nice service. Can be crowded, so you may have a bit of a wait, but it's well worth waiting for.

“Don't miss a brew at The Bu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

The Hoxa Tearooms has to be one of the best cafes around - if only it weren't in Orkney we'd go there all the time! We got a friendly welcome, table service and good food when we visited. The soup and cakes were home-made, and the books on birds and wild flowers on the window sills were a nice touch. The toilets were very clean with decent loo paper (always a plus!). It's an ideal place to stop for a snack after a blustery walk round the fascinating WWII gun batteries on Hoxa Head, and there's great views from the cafe windows of Flotta and Scapa Flow. You can also visit the nearby Hoxa Tapestry Gallery at the same time as an added bonus.
