We stayed 2 nights at the Creel during May and ate in the restaurant on the first evening. Allan, who is the Creel's chef and owner certainly impressed us with his superb food.

We were looked after very well by Joyce, his wife, who does an excellent job of maintaing the rooms to a very high standard. We were very comfortable and would certainly stay at the Creel again, should we return to the Orkneys.

The Orkneys were absolutely beautiful, well worth a visit

We stayed at the Creel for the last night of a recent holiday on Orkney. Our expectations were high, due to the reputation of the restaurant, and first impressions were very positive. The restaurant looked good and our room was exquisite. We were really looking forward to dinner, but unfortunately this was a bit disappointing. There was some good cooking, but the main course (we both had halibut - this being a place famed for fish and seafood) in particular was less than overwhelming. The desserts, however, were heaven! At breakfast, the muesli & yoghourt was superb. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but maybe it wasn't the triumphant climax to a wonderful holiday that Orkney deserves.
