“Amazing Broch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

What was exciting about this site was the size of it, I could imagine all the people living there in close proximity to each other. Very peaceful in a lovely setting I was so pleased that I'd visited this site, I would have liked to have visited Midhowe Broch but though not far away it was on the Isle of Rousay across the sea.

“Interesting site”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

One of many fascinating archaeological sites on the Orkney Mainland. While it is obviously a ruin compared to what it must have been like when it was in use, it is easy to imagine what life much have been like for the inhabitants.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

An amazing site in a stunning location. We visited on a lovely sunny day and the Broch was very impressive. The information available on the site was very good. The site was pleasantly quiet after the bus groups we encountered at neighbouring Skara Brae!

“A walk through history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

We visited many Neolithic sites whilst on Orkney, and the Broch of Gurness was one of my favorites. We had an amazing time exploring this ancient place and imagining the people who created it.

“Superb”

Every bit as good and some ways better than Skarra Brae.

Well worth the trip out to the point.

Wish Ihad had more time on this occassion.
