The best fish pie ever! Yummy. We will certainly be back again soon. We were down stairs which had a nice atmosphere.

“Local Restauarant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This restaurant takes a bit of beating and as its only 5 minutes walk from our house, how can you beat that.We have frequented this restaurant for a good 25 years if not more and got to admit we have not received a bad meal. The staff are all very efficient and pleasant.

“A family favourite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

This place is an all time favourite for my family and me, we always go here for when we have special occasions and it never disappoints. The food is excellent, especially the seafood specials, and the service is wonderful. I was here kast weekend with my partner and grandparents for an Easter dinner and enjoyed the Pate for starter, Seafood Kebab (heavenly) for main and lemon brulee (personal fave) for dessert. Cannot fault any of it.
Will be back in no time!

“Always worth the money.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Once again an excellent meal at the 1629. I had the omelet Fantasia as a starter, full of scallop, lobster and prawns and my partner opted for the monkfish and scallop salad, both delicious. Our main courses were Frito Misto which is a great array of seafood and very filling, while I opted for Bistecca Marie Bosa which as always was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We rounded the meal off by both having Baked Alaska, we had to wait for this dessert as it was cooked to order in individual ramekins and oh boy it was well worth that small amount of time for this fabulous pudding and I highly recommend trying it. As the title says it is always worth the money, I sometimes see people moaning at the price of food but like anything else if you want TOP QUALITY it is certainly worth every penny at The 1629. Congratulations to all staff for a fantastic meal once again.
