“The Best Steak I've Ever Had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2011

We didn't stay here but we did have lunch in the conservatory. This was the best steak I ever had. Ribeye Steak + Haggis + Whisky Sauce + Chips = The Best Steak Ever!!

It was cooked perfectly and was unbelievably tender!! Yum!!

Nom nom nom!!

Had a lovely lunch here recently after a visit to Rosslyn Chapel. Very cosy, lovely food, the only problem was that the service was quite slow.

Stayed here when on business. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Service was great and very friendly. Food was lovely in the grail resturant which had some great photographs of Roslin Chapel on the walls. I had some problems getting onto the wifi in my room however the hotel manager managed to fix this for me. I would stay here again.

Apperently we were an inconvience from check in. We arrived at about 5pm and after the front desk person (by the way this was the only time we saw a person at the front desk) went and got someone else we were taken to the wrong room. When we said that we booked a double not a twin the man argued wirh us. Eventually we got our room changed to a double but we put them out in the process. During all of this there wasnt any friendly conversation and we were never told about breakfast or any other ammenities... Like how to get in the front door after hours. We never saw our hosts again and we stayed for two days. We left the hotel at 8 am on Sunday and there was not a soul in site. On the plus side the lady who cleaned our room did an amazing job and even vacuumed our dogs bed.

Staff very friendly. However, would not recommend the food we had in this hotel. Sandwiches made from bread of the quality you might expect from supermarket budget brand. From the window, couldn't help noticing the antics of a junior staff member outside, jumping up and down on top (then fell inside) the large rubbish bin outside!

We stayed with our Jack Russell dog for one night and would recommend to anyone.
Large room with lots of windows, even one in the bathroom, just remeber to pull down the blind!
Shame they do not put any guest information in the room and no menu! If you don't take give it a go you will miss out on a real find. Don't be put off by the extensive selection of this "Scotish" fare - everything is freshly cooked to perfection.
What you must remeber is that this is an Inn and a negative issue was that our room was above the bar which did get a little loud later in the night but nothing you could not live with.
The breakfast is a feast so you will not leave hungry - shame the toast was not cut in half and put in a toast rack - that really was the only comment

would recommend the hotel for any kind of a celebration, booked our wedding reception here.

Meal was in the restaurant, food was beautifully cooked and the service was impeccable, the evening do was in the function suite which has just been redecorated.

Again, the staff bent over backwards to make our evening run smoothly with a special thanx to Graham and his son
