A definite must-see if you are going to Edinburgh!! We went on a private tour with Rosslyn Tours and our guide was absolutely wonderful and very hospitable! I would recommend booking with Rosslyn Tours if you are planning on going to see the chapel and do not have your own mode of transporation. The chapel is breathtaking and extremely interesting. We enjoyed our private excursion to Rosslyn - thank you!!!

After everything I heard about Rosslyn Chapel, I had to go when I was in Edinburgh. It didn't make sense to be so close and not go. We got on a bus at the stop in front of the Scott Memorial on Princes Street. You can pay for a day pass when you get on the bus, which I thought was the simplest way. We paid 7.50 GBP to get in. There were tour guides, but we didn't use one. There were knowledgeable docents in the chapel if you have any questions while visiting. Rosslyn Chapel was beautiful! The carvings were fascinating. It may seem overwhelming when you first walk in, but helpful signs point out particularly interesting parts of the architecture. You can't take photos in the chapel, but you can outside. We walked onto the scaffolding surrounding the chapel and got to take photos of the carvings and windows near the roof. The views were stunning. I highly enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend it. My mother and sister also loved it, even though I was the one that dragged them all that way! It's worth the price of admission and the bus ride out there.

This was the first place on my mind when we planned our trip to Scotland.I myself found out about chapel as most of us through the DaVinci code, but forget about the book.Doesn't matter wether you believed every single word or thought it was rubbish,or never touched the book -the place is amazing anyway.
Try to arrive as early as you can to avoid the crowds. We drove and it took about 20 min from Edinburg. It might be difficult to locate it if you don't have sat nav so make sure you have clear directions before you go
I strongly suggest you take your time and sit down and listen to the guides, they do the talk every 15 min or so and it takes about 20 to 30 min.The history of the chapel is fascinating and you will learn a lot.Guides are realy knowlegable and speak with great humour too so it's not a boring lecture. You can get a guided tour with your ticket for even more information.
Some people are dissapointed because of the canape covering chapel but it serves a great purpose and will come off one day and guides will tell you all about it too,but whilst it's there you can use the unique opportunity to climb up and have a look at amazing exterior of chapel that you normaly wouldn't be able to see

My daughter and I included a visit to this small chapel at the persistence of my daughter. She recently finished reading the DaVinci Code and knew about the chapel. My cousin (a longtime resident of Edinburgh) agreed to drive us because she had never visited the chapel. All of us were so glad we made the effort. It was fascinating and the docents were so well informed. We returned to the states but my cousin has since added this site to her "must see" places whenever she has international visitors. It was a welcome change of pace from the vastness of the major cathedrals we visited throughout England.

It is very easy to reach Rosslyn Chapel from Edingburgh city center. We took hourly Lothian bus and it tool 30-40 mins.
From the Rosslyn Chapel bus stop, cross the street and walk along the beautiful suburban road for 5-10 minutes and you'll find the chapel of legend.

This small chapel is full of wonder I'd say. Not a single stonework of this edifice has no meaning.Everything in the church has its stories and secrets - some of them still remain unsolved!

If you head to Edinburgh, Rosslyn chapel is a must.
