If you saw the movie or read the book "The Da Vinci Code" then you should visit Rosslyn Chapel. The chapel can be reached via the Edinburgh city bus service on Lothian Bus #15 it runs every half hour during the day and takes about a half hour to get there.
You can get on the bus on Princess street, purchase a day ticket.
You do not need to tell the driver to stop at Rosslyn, they have a half a bus full of visitors on every run. You get off in the village and walk down a well signed county lane to the chapel, the lane is paved and mostly flat. You may have construction traffic as they where working on a new visitors center. Once at the chapel take all the photos you want outside, you can not take photos in side.
The chapel is a working church so it may be closed for weddings and such. The guided tour takes about an hour, you are free to walk around on your own.
