Having been fortunate enough to stay in many hotels throughout the world travelling both on business and pleasure trips, I've never found anything quite like the Royal Arran in terms of delivering that personal touch, which distances it from anything I've known before. If you’re looking for somewhere special to base yourself whilst exploring the island, look no further than here.

I stayed over a weekend in the 'four poster' room with my wife fto celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the very moment we arrived and were provided with afternoon tea by the incredibly attentive hosts, Adele and Peter, I knew the stay would be one to remember.

The room was spotless clean and had a breathtaking sea view. The bed was pristine and of a standard normally exclusive to 5 star hotels. The en-suite was modern, tastefully decorated with a Mira shower, which more than catered for our needs.

All rooms are on a bed & breakfast basis only, however, there is a selection of restaurants within a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. Adele and Peter recommended the 'Trafalgar' restaurant for one of the evenings, which is a must for anyone visiting the island. The eccentric host ensures you are in for an unforgettable experience and food of a considerably high standard.

The breakfast served at the Royal Arran consists wholly of local produce and home made preserves. The dining room is immaculately presented with a menu to cater for everyone’s tastes. The cooked breakfast is again a must and of a standard comparable with anything I've experienced in the past. Adele's home baking is a delight that has to be tasted to be believed.

The lounge also benefits from a beautiful sea view, the sofas are very comfortable, which when utilised along with the roaring coal fire, is enough to send you off to sleep if you're not careful!

The hosts treat everyone the same and deliver a quality of service you simply won't find anywhere else. It would be wrong of me to go into all the personal touches that made our stay so memorable as it would spoil the surprise for those who subsequently choose to stay at the Royal Arran in the future.

If you're staying in Arran, stay here. I've never bothered writing a review previously; however, it is the only way I can think of show how much my wife and I appreciated the service we received from the owners. On that note, I shouldn't have to expand any further. We will definitely be back!

My husband, parents and I recently had a truly special two night stay at The Royal Arran Hotel. The hotel is wonderfully located on the promenade with stunning views over the bay to Holy Isle and beyond. The sunrises are to be seen to be believed - and we were fortunate enough to see two beautiful sunrises in October!!!!

The patio room exceeded my expectations when we originally booked the room for my parents (young at heart 80 year olds...!!!) They were able to enjoy the sunrises in the privacy of their own patio area and the accommodation was both elegant but still "homely".

Our own room had recently been refurbished and the new modern en-suite certainly did not feel out of place along side some very elegant period features.

As previous members have remarked, we too would strongly encourage anyone making the trip over to Arran to give real consideration to staying with Adele and Peter. Their hospitality and friendliness only enhanced our experience of Arran.

Adele's breakfasts really set you up for the day and Peter's attentive service make sure your day gets off to the best of starts.
From tips regarding accompaniments to your porridge to their extensive knowledge of the isle - nothing is too much trouble for such wonderful hosts - even down to some wonderful home-made treats for you to take with you on your travels. Such thought and attention to even the smallest of details has made our stay at The Royal Arran Hotel one that will be remembered for a very long time.

Adele - KPI's achieved and exceeded many, many times over - thank you!

Michelin Guide Recommended 2007 and STB 4-Star suggest the standards of service and accommodation to be found at the Royal Arran which is literally a stone's throw from the beach. Nothing was too much trouble for Adele and Peter as they put their guests at ease in their home from home whether it was producing excellent breakfasts and home baking, maps or local information. Public rooms were large and attractively decorated; bedrooms were comfortable, quiet and well furnished. Found on TripAdvisor, we followed the recommendations of others and found nothing to fault. We shall certainly go back.

Just had a great weekend staying at the Royal Arran Hotel. Really excellent hotel, romantic setting, four-poster bed in room with uninterrupted view to the sun rising over the sea. Great breakfast, and outstandingly helpful owners who even bake little treats for every guest to take with them for the day.

My wife and I recently had a really wonderful stay at the Royal Arran Hotel for our honeymoon. In summary, it was an amazing experience and I would really encourage any one making the trip over to Arran to give real consideration to staying here. The place itself is both eloquent and extremely comfortable. However, what really sets the place apart from other small hotels and B&Bs are the hosts who clearly have put a lot of time and thought in how to make their guests' stays ones to remember. From small details like bedside chocolates, which were locally made to a welcoming tea or coffee upon arrival, it really felt like you were taken care of from the moment you arrived. Other points worth mentioning include the delicious cooked breakfast every-morning, the "special treat," which is baked fresh and given out each morning, and the lovely seaside views. Also, you can't beat the location of Whiting Bay, which is a quaint village that offers up a good range of restaurants and makes for easy access to all points of the island. All in all, a great place, amazing hosts and definitely worth a stay!
