Our first visit to Arran couldn't have been better. Stonewater House is a beautiful house in a beautiful village. You couldn't get any friendlier or more helpful hosts than Mark and Rachael. The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. The food is amazing especially the home baked bread and home made yoghurt. I would definately return.

We stayed here for three nights in May 2013. The Wrens gave us a warm welcome and were very accommodating about the somewhat unusual hours we came in and went out. Our room was at the back of the house, looking out on a dripping rock face, which was unusual. It was spotless and its size fine. We had an en-suite bathroom with shower (there is also a separate guests' bathroom with bath), our own TV, wi-fi and tea-making facilities. We slept well (helped perhaps by the hint of Arran Aromatics in the sheets?). Breakfast was first-class and kept us going until evening; the choice for the cooked bit was between 'small' or 'large', meat or vegetarian. We got soaked when we were out on Goatfell of course, but even so didn't need to test the drying room.

Fantastic location, with lovely views of Lamlash Bay and steps from excellent pubs, restaurants and golf course. Inside, Stonewater House is spacious and impeccable, designed with lots of light and many luxury touches. And did we mention the wonderful breakfasts, with homemade yogurt, breads and compotes to accompany your full English? We will be back - wouldn't stay anywhere else in Arran. - Tara and Richard

Just back from a weekend stay at the Stonewater House. A great stay at a wonderful B&B.

Mark and Rachel are great hosts and made us feel very welcome.

The rooms are spacious and clean and the breakfast is fantastic. Home made yoghurt and haggis to die for.

Mark was very helpful with suggestions on how to fill our days and was able to answer any questions we had.

The location of the B&B is also a plus with a great view over to Holy Island.

Nearby there is a good choice of bars and cages.

All in all a great place to base yourself on Arran.

Wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Mark and Rachel are both very friendly and I think it's their personalities that add to make this a very welcoming place to stay. The house is lovely and our room was large and spotless with plenty of fluffy towels and nice tea/coffee making facilities. It was the little extra things e.g. like a refridgerator in the guest lounge to chill wine or beer or some of the lovely Arran cheese to take home - the balcony off the guest lounge where you can sit and relax, the herbal teas and shortbread on the tray in our room. The breakfast is simply brilliant! I would seriously think about having the large breakfast as we had the small one and I thought I had been given the large by mistake. If you want to stay here I would book a.s.a.p. as I think it will book up very quickly. We will definately stay there again as we also loved Lamlash which is only 3 miles from Brodick!

I enjoyed staying in this beautiful house. The owners are lovely, the house was beautiful and the setting awesome. Walking along the beach just outside their house was wonderful, searching for shells, seeing the seals and watching the sunset. On the day I went hiking with my tour guide, Lucy Wallace, the hosts Rachael very graciously provided me with a thermos of hot tea and Mark lent me his walking stick. I hope that I will be able to visit there again and highly recommend this B & B.

We stayed at Stonewater House from 19th to 22nd October.
This was our first trip to Arran and we hope it won't be our last.
The house is in a perfect location, quiet, but with good local places to eat, and only 3 miles from Brodick.
We were made most welcome by Rachel. The accomodation was clean, modern, well appointed, with everything we could need.
Rachel is very knowledgeable about the Island and advised us well on walks and places for dinner.
The breakfast is excellent, in quantity, choice, and most importantly in quality.
We didn't meet Mark, but he would be hard pressed to beat Rachel in all aspects of hospitality, and attention to detail!
Even the weather was "fixed" for us!
We would highly recommend Stonewater House and hope to return.
Thanks again.
