“Beautiful and Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Auchrannie is just a couple of minutes from the ferry. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We have two boys of 12 and 8. Our room had a double bed and two singles and there was plenty of room for us all. The room was really clean and nicely furnished. There was a complimentary bottle of fizz on arrival, as well as drink making facilities and 2 bottles of water in the fridge, which were replaced daily. The bathroom was great with a power shower, heated towel radiator and Arran Aromatics toiletries. The facilties at the hotel are fantastic with 2 pools, saunas and steam rooms and jacuzzi. There is a sports hall where we played tennis and table tennis. We played snooker in the snooker room at the old hotel. The boys enjoyed themselves in the playbarn on the big soft climbing frame, the air hockey and the basketball game. My husband had a massage in the Aspa, which he really enjoyed. The food was great. We ate in the Cruize restaurant every night apart from one, when we ate in Brambles. The food in Brambles was good but we just didn't feel the service was quite as good as in Cruize and they also tried to overcharge us for drinks, which was a little disappointing. However, the whole Auchrannie experience was fantastic, none of us wanted to leave and Arran is a beautiful island. Would certainly go back.

Firstly the problem i have with Auchrannie, is where to start, i only stayed over one night for a wedding, so i never got to experience the package sadly, however in the short time i was there i could see that it had it all, location, it certainly would fascilitate the " get away from it all"! Category, the surroundings are so quiet and peaceful , you just know it is a quality stay! We only had lunch in " cruize" the restaurant, it's menu is reasonably priced , and i can guarantee the food is superb, the restaurant is spotless, efficient staff, and has great views too! I have been to another scottish resort and auchrannie leaves it standing! I would urge anyone to have a look and pay a visit!! I certainly will be back for the full treatment!!

Stayed 2 nights in the spa hotel, would def recommend staying there if you are a couple or group with no children. As the Cruize complex is very busy and loud with children running about which is to be expected. Hotel spa really nice and quite quiet. Food superb could not fault it. Staff lovely and very friendly, always saying hello and smiling. Amazing views. Accomodation very comfortable and modern. Had a signature facial which is tailored to your skin, and back, neck and shoulder massage at the ASPA , tara who done the treatments was excellent, the best facial I have ever had. Will def be recommending this hotel and spa to friends and family. Thank you Auchrannie for a memorable visit.

Room Tip: Rooms in the hotel a lot more quieter and peaceful if you have no children.

Stayed 2 nights in Spa Hotel. Rooms were very spacious, plenty of room, can hear people in above room walking very clear. Staff in Cruize restaurant didnt have much chat, didnt recognise us after serving us a few times. Girl in reception very nice and bubbly. It was a bonus haveing a fridge in the room as the weather was very hot and kids were always wanting drinks, found it cheaper to buy them at co-op and put in fridge. Not complaining as would return to hotel in a flash, really enjoyed & so did kids, they are asking when they can return. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Arran.

Room Tip: Try & get higher room so there is nobody above.

I stayed at the Spa resort for a long weekend, the saff couldn'tt have been better - especially the restaurant and waiting/bar staff. The beautiful balcony is just lovely to relax in with a glass of wine.

The food was great too, we ate at both the Cruize Bar and over in Brambles. Food was faultless (Brambles needs air-con though, it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy in the hot weather even with the doors open). The hot weather was a bonus but the lack of air-con in the rooms made sleeping a bit difficult as the single windows (in most of the rooms) are quite small.

Great facilities however, and rooms have a full length mirror, a small detail to most but something so important to others and something which oddly so many other hotels just don't think of. Complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries are great too. The tv arranged in the meeting room off the terrace meant we all watched the glorious Andy Murray final! Superb! Great atmosphere. Spotlessly clean. With so much space outside it woud have good to have some birdfeeding stations or perhaps a wildlife garden and a feature made out of the pond. But, all in all ths was a great place to stay, so handy for the ferry. ( A reasonable walk for anyone infirm though), we travelled by car but the shuttle bus is excellent. Can't say enough good things about the staff, they really were great, very articulate and so helpful. Good manners goes a LONG way for guests thinking of returning. I am looking forward to going back.

Regards

Room Tip: In hot weather ask for a ground floor if possible as there's no air-con.
