Second time at the Ormidale, staff are very friendly and welcoming. Arrived at 2pm and although hotel door open nobody present to welcome us, however a simple phone call (per the notice) and Tommy the owner appeared.
Lounge area been refurbished since our last visit where we had a meal on Saturday which was brilliant and good value for money. If the rugby club play at home they all have after match food in the bar so the bar can be busy on a Saturday most of the day, which suits us fine. The hotel has a disco from 10pm onwards Friday and Saturday nights which means the bar has mixed age group and a real buzz these nights with tourists and locals. We took our dog again who was welcomed in the bar with no problems and made a fuss of by the brilliant staff.
Room was slightly on the small side but spotless, bed not the comfiest but after a few drinks we slept like a log. Breakfast was a good selection which was ample for our needs after two late nights.
Hotel grounds are picturesque with a nice beer garden, swing and rope swing for the kids (or big kids) which we were lucky to be able to use as our weather was brilliant for October.
Needless to say we will be back soon.
