We chose this hotel because of its excellent location for touring the island. We stayed for three nights and was allocated a bedroom on the top floor in a studio self catering suite. Unfortunately there was not a lounge chair to sit on so we had to sit on the bed to watch television.
The floor boards were very creaky and we were conscious that we must be disturbing people below as we walked about.that it
The food was good but after receiving poor service on the first night in the restaurant we decided to eat in the bar, a good decision. The service and food was excellent in there and it was clear that several other people had the same experience as we did. The hotel has coach parties and when they all come down to dine in the evening this obviously puts pressure on the system and they struggle to cope.
Breakfast had a good choice, try the porridge.
The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
We would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again if ever we were in the area.

My wife and I recently spent two days in this lovely, friendly hotel. The staff went out of their way to make our stay a very happy two days, they were happy and looked as if they enjoyed their work. To all the staff thank you for being so happy and cheerful. The food was good and they served tattie scones for breakfast watch out we may be back

Just come home from a short break at the Kinloch hotel at Blackwaterfoot. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It can be a bit expensive to take the car over from the mainland so we were lucky to notice a two day break with free car ferry advertised.A really great offer you could not refuse. The hotel has a good swimming pool and very handy for the beach. The food in the bar or restaurant were excellent.Maybe the portions were a little too much for us.,but very enjoyable.
The manager was always available, either serving or chatting to his customers.Nice to see a manager enjoying mixing with his customers and working well with his staff.
We have been to this hotel before and we enjoyed our stay once again.Would definitely recommend this small Island hotel.

We took a party of 62 to the hotel for a 2 night holiday weekend. Throughout the planning the hotel was most helpful. On arrival nothing was a problem to make the guests welcome and settle them in. The dinner each night was excellent and buffet breakfast all locally sourced food. To take a group of 62 and not have one single complaint is a great accolade for the hotel.

We dropped in here as a 'halfway' point for our cycle around Arran, we only visited the bar, the service was good and it was reasonably priced, they even gave us the tv remote control to watch the football (don't get that in Glasgow), there were a mix of locals and visitors in the bar, for dog owners the added bonus is your dog is welcome also, on a sunny day you'll be pushed to find a beer garden where you can have a beer with such a beautiful view.

We stayed here on a two day autumn break offer, crossing a bit bumpy due to the weather but well worth the journey when we arrived in Blackwaterfoot. The Kinloch hotel sits in an enviable position overlooking the water, the hotel is not boutique style but a comfortable slightly old fashioned place with the rooms at the front having fabulous views over the water easily reached by a lift if needed. Our room was large clean and immediately relaxing, the bathroom a wee bit on the small side but had everything we needed and again very clean. The staff here are very pleasant and go out of their way to be of assistance. We dined in the restaurant on the first night and had the scallops and the venison which was a very decent portion, all made a very nice dinner plus the wine finished of a very pleasant evening, a quick walk by the water and we slept very well. Breakfast is a self service but everything was fresh and replaced quickly and often very tasty. Our food for the two days was most enjoyable. We felt relaxed and are already looking forward to going back.

Room Tip: A room facing the water is a must.
