Stayed here in October 2007 and thought the hotel was great.

We stayed in the newer block towards the back of the hotel (Room 116) and had an excellent view of the River Forth and the bridges. Room was clean and well furnished. The bathroom was nice too with an outstanding power shower which blew the cobwebs away.

We ate in the restaurant and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast was great with haggis a lovely addition. Views from the dinning room are also outstanding.

Staff mentioned that a refit of the public areas and hallways is underway and from the job done so far it should be great when it's all finished.

Very good standard for a three star hotel for both accommodation and food.

I stayed here for a week on a residential course & was very impressed by the hotel, which at the time of staying (late Mar 2007) was well through a major refit.

The main selling point of this hotel are the views. It has the "wow" factor, especially on a clear day.

Rooms are good sized, modern & above average. Nothing wildly exciting but clean, spacious and good. The only snag I had was with a window which didn't quite close (or open), but the heating was adjustable & it wasn't an issue.

An upside of the hotel is if you are willing to venture out on an evening. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down to North Queensferry, which is quiet & without much sign of too much life during the week, but enough to visit the local pub. The better option was to do a 45 minute walk over the bridge to South Queensferry where there are lots of excellent pubs and restaurants, then either get a train back (from Dalmeny to North Queensferry), walk or get a taxi.

Food in the restaurant was good for the odd night, but samey for a few days. The main downside is that the drinks choice wasn't great & the bar had little going for it. I would venture out if you can if your stay is for more than 2 days.

This hotel is worth staying at for the views alone. A pleasant surprise & well above the standards I expected.

We stayed in this hotel for one night and we really loved it.
Our room was on the 1st floor. It was big, cute and clean with large bathroom. Breakfast was very nice. There's a restaruant, tourist information and gift shop which were very useful. Also there's internet point. It takes 30 minutes to get to Edinburgh. You can easily make this by bus which stop right by the hotel. Moreover it's a spectaclar view on Queensferry bridge from there. We will stay there again fo sure.

I've stayed at this hotel three times this year on business. It's neither good nor bad - just non-descript and has no real character or interest. Just somewhere convenient for me to stay when in the area on business. On all stays the rooms though different were identical in lay-out and facilities. There's no SKY Sports channels on the bedroom televisions and as one of my stays coincided with an important football match I wanted to see I had to watch this in the smoky, cramped bar which does have Sky.

All the breakfasts have been disappointing - buffet service which means the food is often tired, cold and unappetising. Evening meal is average and reasonably priced, house wine reasonable value though.

Hotel seems to attract business clientele and is convenient for the docks at Rosyth. I understand Gordon Brown (Chancellor) lives locally but I don't expect you'll see him propping up ther bar. And you won't see me again as next time I'm up there I'll probably look for something better.
