We found this looking for breakfast one morning. Friendly welcome, lovely interior and a delicious scone fresh from the oven! A gem!

“Excellent Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

On a trip to the area, my family found this gem of a cafe. We had been looking for a rest stop for a light lunch. The interior was small, but we managed to get a table. We ordered three sandwiches and four hot drinks. The choice of sandwich fillings were a little more unusual from the run of the mill offerings from other places I have been too. My wife and daughter each had BBQ chicken baguettes and I ordered a black pudding, bacon and beetroot relish sandwich. The food was freshly prepared and delicious.
I would have been happy with the quality of what we had, but the icing on the proverbial cake was the price. The total bill came to less than £18, less than we would have been in a takeaway bakery chain.
I would thoroughly recommend this cafe if you are in the area and hopefully you will be as pleasantly surprised as we were.

“Very enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We visited on a Sunday around lunchtime as we had been told by friends that the cafe had reopened.
We feared that, due to the time of day, it would be difficult to get a seat but thankfully it's a wee bit bigger than it looks from the outside.
The interior is tasteful and welcoming and has a seating area with couches at one end and tables and chairs at the other.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
I ordered a baguette and my wife ordered a sandwich. The menu had various choices of delicious fillings and both of our choices were lovely. I had a soft drink and my wife had two coffees, with the bill coming to £10, which we considered excellent value for money.
There were many other things to choose from including cakes, which we didn't sample on this visit but certainly will next time.
Breakfast will no doubt be another great reason for returning.
Already looking forward to our next visit soon.

“Brilliant little cafe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

We went to Rankins as it had been highly recommended by several friends. Had really good coffee and scones. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the choice of food is good. Hope to go back soon to sample their breakfast menu before walking part of the coastal path. Prices are very reasonable for the quality.
