Our family had a fantastic time at Miss Mary Bobo's when we visited in the summer. I'd read about it in various guidebooks and we decided to pair it with a visit to the Jack Daniels distillery when we were staying in Nashville. I booked about 3 months in advance by telephone just to make sure.
I can't express enough how much we really enjoyed our visit. You are allocated to a table of about 8 - 10 people each table hosted by a wonderful local lady and generally in a private room. We were very fortunate and were seated with some executives from Jack Daniels which made for an even more interesting lunch.
The food was superb - served homestyle on platters which you pass around. There was plenty of food and plenty of choice. Several meat courses, choice of vegetables and delicious desserts. The hostess was extremely informative in a most genteel southern style and kept conversation - and the dishes - moving smoothly.
It was just a delight from beginning to end. We had our two young teenage daughters with us and they were not absolutely looking forward to it, but really enjoyed themselves and would love to go back -as would we all.
Don't miss lunch with Miss Mary Bobo!
